✧ nothing makes him happier than waking up next to them in the morning. whether they’re awake or asleep, having their face be the first thing he sees each day feels like a blessing to him. the first few times he may have even teared up a little because he was so overcome by emotion
✧ as duke chalphy he’s fairly busy with trying to lead it into a better future, and, well, learning all the skills required to do that in the first place when before he didn’t know much more than fighting to survive. still, he always sets some time aside for his spouse, creating rituals for just the two of them to relax and enjoy each other’s company
✧ if celice has to travel and he can’t bring his spouse with him (which happens more often than he’d like because someone has to look after the dukedom in his absence) he will always write them as often as he can and bring back some sort of little souvenir he thinks they’d like
✧ as his spouse, proper court behaviour is also something they’d definitely have to learn (or learn how to adapt should they come from a noble background). at first, the two of them took lessons together but after goofing off one time too many, they’re now restricted to taking them alone. still, they might practice together later which usually leads them off-track in the end, anyhow. doing funny impressions of their teacher quickly becomes a staple joke
✧ even after the war, he still enjoys training together with them if they’re willing. there’s still a lot of unrest throughout all of jugdral and it’s questionable if he will live to see it become stable at all. in any case, he reasons that it’s always important to be able to defend yourself, especially in a position of power. he certainly sleeps better at night when he knows that his spouse isn’t completely helpless if he shouldn’t be around to keep them safe
