Lord, Am I ready for this? (First Part)
Let me share to you the first part of what I learned from the book of Mr. Joshua Harris, the "I Kissed Dating Goodbye" most specifically the first three chapters of the book and some Words that really impacts in the "Insta-LOVE Series Victory U-belt"
*But please do bear with me nalang, this is my first time to write a blog, so I really need your consideration/s HAHAHAHA. Okey Let's Start :)
"God is the ONLY INITIATOR, Author of Life.. Author of our Lovelife." -Ptr. Francis Asuncion
Surething narinig mo na itong mga katagang ito.. "Sundin mo kung saan ka magiging masaya.. Mahal mo di ba? Ipaglaban mo... Sundin mo ang puso mo."
But what the Bible says about it?
New International Version (NIV)
9 The heart is deceitful above all things
and beyond cure.
Who can understand it?
precisely, if you are not reading your Bible you will be shock coz God is talking about this thing. Actually the first time I hear about it ang unang pumasok sa utak ko ay "Weeeeeeh?! Akala ko Guard your heart lang." hahaha :D Funny but true.
Let us define first what does "deceit" means..
it is the action or practice of deceiving someone by concealing or misrepresenting the truth. or A dishonest act or statement.
deception - fraud - cheat - trickery - trick - guile
Therefore, if we follow our heart this are the things that can happen:
You can be deceived by someone
You'll be the one to deceived someone
"Following your heart is doing what you think seems right what seems it looks good without thinking any consequences, following you heart can lead also to HURTFUL situations or in times it can lead us to DANGEROUS situation/s. "
So what can we do about this things.
"If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth.
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin." 1 John 1:6,7
As Christians, we need fellowship, we need one another as brothers and sisters. But the sad thing some of our brothers/sisters (don't worry di ikaw ito! haha) tend to hide and feel like they don't need godly advice from their fellow leaders.
Maybe, some pride issues na din, they feel like "Why should I?, I can do this alone.. God and I talked already about this.. We are not doing something naman ah.."
"He who walks with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm." -Proverbs 13:20 NIV
So, Ikaw.. yes, the one reading this.. i really encourage you to talk about this to your accountable partners so that they really give you godly advice and cover you also in prayers, and do not be shame, :))))
"Are you pledged to a woman? Do not seek to be released. Are you free from such a commitment? Do not look for a wife." - 1 Corinthians 7:27
Bilang mga estudyanteng nag-aarala ng mabuti, WAG ka muna atat! hahahaha. Don't be sad na wala kang boyfriend or girlfriend. Enjoy what season you have today, focus! because God will not put that in your life if He knows that it will be just nonsense or walang purpose.
As a student there are only two important things that we should do while we are in our campus and that is STUDY and MAKE DISCIPLES.
"Do not be consumed looking for someone spatial. Seeing them as your "Potential or Future Prospect".
Instead to seek for "the one" why don't you seek the Kingdom first (Matthew 6:33) like what Adam did, although there is longing, Adam did his part, He honor God by doing all His command to him. and Adam knew that he is already complete! that he was created through God's image. (Genesis 1:27) and after God sees what Adam did, God is the ONE WHO INITIATES (Genesis 2:18)
So let me end this with this verse.
"Whoever obeys His command will come no harm, and the wise heart will know the proper time and procedure. For there are proper time and procedure for every matter, though man's misery weighs heavily upon Him."- Ecclesiastes 8:5,6
Do not follow your heart, LEAD YOUR HEART. :)
