Cheng Yen
Dharma Master Cheng Yen was born on May 11, 1937 in Qingshui, Taiwan. She lives in a convent with 160 other Buddhist nuns, and runs a charity called the Tzu Chi Foundation, which she established in 1966. The Tzu Chi Foundation, which provides assistance to victims of natural disasters, now has a presence in fifty countries and almost ten million supporters. They have helped victims of Typhoon Haiyan, Hurricane Sandy, the earthquake in Haiti and more. Her book Jing Si Aphorisms has been translated into eleven languages and has sold 3.5 million copies.

I am not in any way hating on anybody's religion.
my whole life i have had trouble believing in god. i remember sitting in church when i was little and thinking "how do people believe this junk?". its not that i dont want to believe in a great power who created everything, i just dont believe it. i cant believe in anything. i just cant help it. im a very factual person and if you cant back something up i wont believe it. i dont understand how people can just know for a fact that some thing called god created everything without any facts. people say things like "all gays are going to hell." or "jason is Buddhist? god said i couldn't have friends other than Christians." when someone says something like this it really bothers me. if god created everything why would he make gay people gay and not let them go to heaven? if god created everything, he created the religion that you disown people for believing in. im curious about how people grow to believe this. its not just Christians, but i live in a christian community so im most familiar with them. i really really really want to be religious and believe in something so if any one has anything to say, ask, or who thinks they can help me with this ordeal please message me because i really need some assistance.
