5 Minute Max Rep BFR (blood flow restriction)Split Squats ~ Set the clock ⏰ for 5 minutes and alternate back and forth between Legs doing 30 second on your right leg and 30 seconds on your left leg for 5 consecutive minutes. Notice the bands wrapped around my leg at the glute fold. ~ Many of you are asking what is BFR?? Simple stupid BFR (blood flow restriction) training is meant to restrict venous return while still letting arterial flow simply by wrapping the uppermost portion of your legs (see video at glute fold) Why would someone want to do this?? By restricting the veins and not the arteries, blood can keep pooling into the muscle working and ends up getting trapped there. By forcing all of that blood to the working muscle without letting it escape you end up with a insane pump. But more important than the “pump” the real theory is that BFR leads to cellular swelling which forces the muscle into new growth in addition to the gnarly metabolic stress it creates as well. I suggest wrapping the bands at a 7/10 on the tightness scale.
