Now my questions:

SO I watched the Hobbit today at midnight. It was AMAZING, the experience to go watch it at midnight premier and stuff. I was quite tired so I don't think my brain understood all the epicness, so I'll rewatch it (Okay, it's a lame excuse, I just want to watch it again).

I don't think I'm fit enough to make a complete critic about it yet, so I'll just talk about this, that's nagging my mind to talk about: my favorite part of the whole movie, besides Martin's flawless impersonation of Bilbo, it's the singing.

I know, "Really, wtf? The singing?" Yes. I absolutely loved it, because I always felt it lacked a bit on the LotR trilogy. It's such a huge part of the books, it shows so much from the characters, especially from the hobbits, so it was SUCH a pleasant surprise to see the dwarfs singing that silly song about Bilbo too, not only the main one. It gives such a link to the books and charisma to the characters. I was absolutely thrilled with the whole scene.

Actually, the whole movie. I confess I was a bit "wtf?" because I was expecting it to be quite faithful to the book, but after an initial surprise, I got to enjoy it a lot. I can't wait to see what else the other movies are going to bring. It frustrated me a little that I couldn't see Smaug in its full glory, because Smaug is one of my favorites. But meh that's understandable, let's be honest.

My reaction to Galadriel and Saruman was a lot of "what the actual fuck?" and a bit of "oh hey nice to see you fellows. Except you, Saruman." I still think that part was a bit off, but it's just the whole initial surprise, I guess. Although I confess I loved Galadriel. As always.

I can't wait to see the Necromancer. Period.

I also hope that the battle against Smaug is something EPIC. Because I just love that dick.

I don't think I need to say again how flawless Martin's Bilbo is. All his perks, the humor, the character changing bit by bit... Flawless. Actually, everybody was just so in character... I loved Thorin as well. His speeches with Bilbo were quite odd, let's the real. I expected Bilbo to show his worth solely by his actions as the book, but now it dawns on me the differences and how in the movie it has its own beauty. I really like it very much now.

The beginning too. How it is a connection to the Fellowship and to see Frodo again... Unf. 

It was a bit strange to see all the effects cuz I just made a LotR marathon and was used to, well, less cgi... But come on, thanks technology for bringing nice effects.

As always, scenery porn.

What I quite frowned upon was how it seemed the movie was a neverending reading with notes experience. They would mention Thror and there we would go venturing in Thror's story. Then they would mention The Brown and here we go on a extra viewing. After the third (?) time I was quite unimpressed. 

Also, my biggest complain was about the 3D effect. I don't like it with any movies, much less with one like this one. I hate the idea of filming it just to bring in more money and to go on a roller-coaster 3D adventure shit, and it felt like this a bit (a lot). Especially on the fighting scene against the mountain trolls. All the time all I could think about was "It looks like I'm in a goddamned thematic park. I bet soon they'll build one just like tWWoHP". At first I felt betrayed by it because of the reasons above, but then I later was thrilled by the idea, lbr here. 

Ah, yes, remembered what I loved a lot: Bilbo's choice to go to the adventure. I was a bit weirded by how it seemed a bit of dub-con on Bilbo's choice to go full ~adventure time~, but on the movie it is purely his choice and his Tûk side. I loved it. Also, the handkerchief part was HILARIOUS. I fell 100% in love with Bilbo in that scene. 

Smeagol's riddle scene was breathtaking. I loved it in the movie, I couldn't wait to see it in the movie. I guess I expected more, but it was just the "it's not how I imagined it 100%" bullshit. I loved it how it was and the part about Bilbo sparing Smeagol's life was even better than I expected. It gave even more depth to his choice, which is such an important one and shows so much about Bilbo.
