Beyond Despair is a terrifying Unreal Engine 4 powered open world dieselpunk horror survival game in which nearly everything that moves can kill you (and probably will!)

What takes place

that gives one such a self-shattering vista

that the only solace one has

is in deadening the soul

with

cirrus-clouded,

finger-tingling sensations

and half-feather feelings

butterfly-inducing,

heady neuron-fired intoxication

one has to empty the soul

hollow out the bone

and gouge the eyes

and it still isn't enough

there, in the void

betwixt and between the remnants

of your battered self

it yet lives.

When Nagini opened her eyes, there was nothing but white. There were neither objects nor plants, and she realized all but immediately that she was all by herself, that she had died at Longbottom's hands. She was aware that many believed that after death, they would be reuinited with their loved ones, yet the only person Nagini cared for was currently fighting for his very life.

By letting herself be killed by a worthless boy like Longbottom, she had effectively abandoned him, and there was nothing Nagini wouldn't do, nothing Nagini wouldn't sacrifice to fight at her Master's side again, for in the throes of insanity, there was no chance for him to survive on his own.

Suddenly, the wide expanse began to shift, and Nagini was falling, falling, falling, gradually reverting to her snake form until she was in the castle once again, yet instead of feeling relieved, there was now an emptiness that almost suffocated her, and Nagini knew that no greater entity had granted her deepest wish, but that the horcrux inside her had brought her back to life in a final act of defiance against Death.

However, before she could make an attempt at finding her Master, whom she could no longer sense, she was enveloped by a familiar smell, and her surroundings shifted once again before she could react in her weakened state.

“Take me back thisss inssstant, Delphini,” Nagini demanded, for it could only be the future self of her Master's child who had removed her from Hogwarts's ground, and it occurred to her that Delphini must have been attempting to rescue her Master just the same, that her plan would have actually resulted in an immense success, had it not been for her unfortunate timing.

“You're too late. I no longer carry a piessse of my Master'sss sssoul, hence we mussst rush to hisss ssside immediately.”

It was then that one particular thought took root in her mind, and Nagini's heart stopped, and her chest constricted painfully.

Beyond Despair Set To Hit Steam Early Access This January

Yet another survival multiplayer game is set to hit Steam Early Access sometime this month. Publisher Heatherglade and developer PixelMate plan to release their horror game known as Beyond Despair for PC. (more…)
