Horror & Supernatural OCs

Adam/Abam: Adam stands weeping in the office; if you look too long, his eyes flash red as he transforms into Abam and lunges with a serrated knife.

Azazel: He slowly emerges from the floor like a shadow, swinging his death scythe directly into the camera.

Bone: His skeletal head pops up from the bottom of the screen, his jaw unhinging with a dry, rattling scream.

Boo: He fades into view right in front of your face, letting out a hollow, ghostly wail that glitches the screen.

Spri: She flies through the office from left to right, her long white hair tangling around the camera before she shrieks.

Boogey: He drops from the ceiling vent, his three eyes glowing intensely before he grabs the player.

Edmund: He appears behind the monitor; when you put it down, he is inches away, baring his vampire fangs.

Joshua: He slowly crawls through the doorway, groaning "Brain..." before suddenly sprinting and biting the camera.

Spooky: He transforms into a shadowy version of Oggy to lure you in, then morphs into a giant, gaping maw.

The Beast: It crashes through the office window on all fours, let out a deafening roar, and lunges.

Elemental & Power-Based OCs

Acanda: His face turns bright red and steam vents from his ears before he explodes into the frame with a furious punch.

Blightshift: He suddenly teleports directly in front of you with a "pop" sound and a distorted screech.

Blob: A green slime glob hits the screen, and he pulls himself through it to jump at the player.

Glitchy: The office monitors fill with static, and he crawls out of the screen like a digital ghost.

Drake: He breathes a gout of fire that obscures the screen, appearing in the center of the flames to attack.

Echo: He lets out a high-pitched "powerful scream" that cracks the screen glass before he lunges.

Frost: The office office freezes over; he emerges from the ice, shattering it as he jumpscares the player.

Sparky: He zaps the office lights, and in the darkness, his electricity-covered body flashes as he attacks.

Sombra: He emerges from your own shadow on the office floor, grabbing the player from below.

Thora: A bolt of lightning strikes the office, and she appears in the flash, surrounded by storm clouds.

Animal-Hybrid OCs

Arachna: She scuttles up the walls on her spider legs and drops onto the player from above.

Billy: He hisses like a cat and leaps from the desk, claws extended.

Bully: He charges from the hallway like a bull, smashing the office door off its hinges.

Honey: He swarms the office with a buzzing sound before appearing in front of the player.

Leo: A low growl precedes him leaping from the shadows with a lion's roar.

Sharky: The office floor turns to water; a fin circles you before he lunges with his "Chum in the water!" catchphrase.

Wolffang: He howls at the moon outside the window before smashing through the glass to attack.

Tigris: He leaps from a "potted plant" in the office, his yellow eyes glowing as he roars.

Centauro: You hear galloping in the hall; he bursts in and delivers a powerful horse-kick to the camera.

Meduso: He removes his sunglasses, and the screen turns to stone as he shrieks.

Weird & Quirky OCs

Advertisement & Commercial: They appear together, holding a "Buy Now!" sign before screaming into the camera.

Alfred: If the office gets too loud, he appears and "shushes" the player so hard the screen shakes.

Balloony: He floats into the office as a balloon; when he pops, he is standing right there to attack.

Clowny: He honks a nose-horn before hitting the player with a giant mallet.

Deborah: She appears with a giant syringe, "treating" the player with a terrifying lunge.

Drunkeny: He stumbles into the office, trips, and falls directly into the camera while yelling.

Magus: He disappears in a puff of smoke and reappears behind the player.

The Puppeteer Roach: He drops a puppet of Oggy into the office, then uses strings to pull the player toward him.

Tonguey: His long tongue wraps around the camera and pulls it into his mouth.

I-Phoney: He takes a "selfie" with the player, the bright flash acting as his jumpscare trigger.

Personality & Villain OCs

Harley: She drops her black cape over the camera, and when she pulls it back, she’s in her villainous pose.

Ubel: He steps calmly into the light, tips his top hat, and then his red eyes flare as he lunges.

Lila: She appears at the window with a "creepy, unsettling smile" and a knife before breaking in.

James: He slams a "You're Fired!" notice on the desk before screaming in a bossy rage.

Dick: He simply walks into the office, gives the middle finger, and the screen cuts to static.

Maligna: She and Malachi appear on opposite sides of the office, closing in simultaneously.

Vexus: She radiates a "hate-powered" aura that turns the screen red before she attacks.

Zeb: He uses a "supervillain" gadget to trap the player before lunging.

Tom: He acts like a bully, knocking over your desk items before tackling the camera.

Cause I hate them honestly. I do not like it because it is the horror equivalent of hitting you and asking if it hurts. Like yes, that’s the natural response my body has to that stimulus. It doesn’t feel interesting or fun or even scary in the long term. Like a friend grabbing your sides out of nowhere to startle you isn’t “scary”.

But on the other hand some situations in very good horror media rely on a tension that feels like it may lead to a jumpscare. And I always silently appreciate when that doesn’t happen, but the tension itself is a good thing, so I wonder if you need the idea of a jumpscare to make that kind of tension work.
