Bex Finch’s sleepwalker
Bex Finch is an American photographer who specialises in environmental portraiture and self-portraiture. When her father was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s disease, she began capturing portraits, both of her father as his disease progressed and of herself coping with the reality of his condition.
“Sleepwalker’s self-portraits are an attempt to understand what he is going through: feeling increasingly lost, directionless, and disconnected from his surroundings, and living with the fact that it will only get worse.”
Bex at the Wythe Hotel, Brooklyn, 2014

Happy birthday, Hodgman. Amazing photo by Bex Finch.
This is a couple of articles I found also about this photographers work. http://www.bexfinch.com/the-sleepwalker http://www.gavinlewisphoto.com/2012/09/13/american-hipster-presents-bex-finch/
Bex Finch website and Gavin Lewis article both of which shows this photographer of her work.
This week I have been researching other photographers who use the nature light to show their subjects or surrounding. The one at present that has stood out is a photographer called Bex Finch, a freelance photographer from Brooklyn, New York. I have studied her work and was interested in her use of light and surroundings she works in. Bex Finch also made a documentary account of her fathers illness and how it affected his way of life which I found very interesting on how she captured the moment. Her use of light upon the subjects gives you the feeling of wishing to know more. Which I wish to achieve within my work and showing that life is not all plain sailing.
