Night gave an illusion that things were calm. Everything seemed much more still, as if the very earth was breathing out. It called out mysteries, predators, and those who had no business with it kept a wary, tired watch.

Clown Crown was no exception.

This was one of those times where ‘sleep became impossible’. It watched over a sleeping Allen Walker for a few hours, before stepping silently to the window. It could hear the song of its other part. An exorcist was nearby.

It unlatched the window slowly, working its feathers into the gear to prevent them from creaking, and then opened the window, just six inches.

“sabine.”

it’s a strange way allen says it.  FULL OF LONGING, && FEAR, without much of a way to say how sorry she was for going away.  allen knows how much her abandonment of the order has hurt people she once called friends, family, BUT YET, SHE’S BECOME SO SELFISH, to turn away from the order.

“what brings you out to town?”  allen dares to ask it softly, balancing her bag between her one arm && her hip.

“Hey, it’s what ‘M here for.” Well, and to assist in completing their assigned mission, however he found the former concept considerably more amusing than the latter, “ I also dabble in jokes if y’wanna hear some.”

He’s bluffing, the jeer serving only to further exasperate the other as he sends her a self assured smirk, his arms moving to fold nonchalantly behind his back as he continued impishly, 

“Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Y’may think it’s useless, but how else do y’suppose we’re gonna find out what’s makin’ that sound from the cave? Y’know the local villagers hav’ some pretty interestin’ legends ‘round here ‘bout werewolves and other bizarre creatures lurking ‘round this cave, but hey, what’s the chances of us runnin’ inta something like that in the dark?”

Pretty high, considering both creatures were prominent night dwellers, but the tales were merely that - folklore conjured by the villagers through years of storytelling. He just wanted to tease the other a bit.

    being shoved against the wall isn’t something he’s expecting. he has a few gashes, but it’s nothing he can’t handle. panting, he looks up at her, pale eyes exhausted. he doesn’t know what he’s done – or maybe he does.

    he knows he can’t save everyone, but… that doesn’t mean he can’t try. he blinks a few times to clear his vision that begins to blur and he rests his head back against the wall. doug closes his eyes, trying to catch his breath as he drops the shield that was once in his hand.
