"Okay, I'll admit it,"
he was unashamed in the way his hands held in defeat from where he sat on the mat; his chest worked to catch up with his breath.
"You kicked my ass."

"Tony told me to add something called 'Blue Waffle' to my list And after his last suggestion I'm a little hesitant ---- Fancy doing some community service and help this old guy out?"

Tony's lawyers were some of the best in the world. The problem was that it didn't matter very much. Once they saw the evidence the other side had to present they told him the best they could do was delay her deportation. The sheer amount of influence these people had was unbelievable. Though Tony shouldn't have been surprised. he knew what they were capable of and they wouldn't hesitate to kill or blackmail whomever they needed to to get what they wanted.
Tony told them to delay as long as they could while he made other plans. He lied to the others as much as he needed to while he worked the problem. Pepper was the only one that he told the truth to because rescuing Romanoff was dangerous for both of them. When he explained the situation, she understood and accepted the risk.
Tony's plan was simple enough and JARVIS was already in the facility's system. He'd been keeping an eye out, making sure that Romanoff was as safe as she could be in her cell. It wasn't complicated to get the earpiece smuggled into her cell. The small plastic package he put it in included a note with the words 'time to get back to work'. She'd hopefully know it was him.

She froze mid-step. Had she allowed someone to sneak up on her, had she been that reckless that she had left herself wide open? The voice sounded familiar, the question causing a frown to cross her face before she turned. Fingers brushing back the red hair behind her shoulder, the look of surprise soon disappeared as tried to keep a control of the situation.
Silence fell between the pair of them as the former Soviet began to access; the risk, the likely-hood she would end up with another life threatening injury. His presence caused a familiar dull ache to throb in her shoulder, a phantom memory of more recent events. Natasha mentally made note, pulling everything together; while he may have no imposed a direct threat, the state he was in made him liable to to become one.
Natasha rose her hands slightly, showing that at that moment she was unarmed and had no intention to sight. Green eyes never pulling from the former Winter Soldier, never breaking contact from the man who had spoken first.
"We have a…complex history."
Mirroring her posture, he raised his own hands up slowly. "E-Easy. I'm not here to hurt you." He could sense the tension in her, even as his own tension made him stiff. He was trying his best to remember that not everyone was an enemy, and that most of what he knew was a lie. But all he could think about was how many reasons she'd have to kill him anyway. That is-- if the blurry memory he had was true. "I-I've shot you. Twice. I don't remember why anymore. Just that I...I was told to. At least, I think I shot you twice. I'm trying to figure out what is real and what is...bullshit." And it was not an easy task, especially given he'd spent the last few decades on everyone's shit list. It wasn't going to be easy, regaining who he was-- or at least a semblance of who he was. But that was all he had anymore, and so he'd cling to it for whatever he was worth.

Heels clicked on the floor as Natasha rushed across the floor, placing her hand upon his back as she took a brief second to triage the situation. She had come to check in on the billionaire, finding his silence oddly disturbing. "JARVIS," There was an edge of concern to her tone as she addressed the AI. "Tony needs medical assistance." Her focused returned to Tony, refusing to move in, she couldn't risk it getting worse. "Tony, come on, you're stronger than this. Fight it."
Your character finds mine collapsed over in so much pain they can't even speak or move. What does your character do?
The major problem with his cybernetic upgrades was that if there was a glitch in the software it was in his brain and in his body. The initial process of implanting the nanobots and implats was extremely painful a fact he kept from Pepper. He told her everything else about the process, he considered the extreme pain insignificant.
When he ran a diagnostic earlier JARVIS found several problems that needed to be corrected. His AI warned him about what would happen, he figured he could deal with it as he expected the Tower to be empty today. He was distracted himself from the pain by doing some work on his tablet while he put a movie on the television. JARVIS notified him that Romanoff was approaching a few moments before the pain ratcheted up a notch. He started to move off the couch to deal with this in privacy, then it got overwhelming. His legs gave out and he curled up on the floor.
JARVIS responded to Natasha’s notification. ”I am monitoring, Mr. Stark’s condition, Ms. Romanoff. It is not life threatening,” he replied.
It took a few moments for the worst of it to pass. Tony put a shaking hand on the floor. ”I’m fi-,” he began and was cut off by a wave of nausea. He gritted his teeth to keep from throwing up. He really hated being like this in front of anyone.

Send me "&" for my muse's reaction to yours tracing one of their scars.
Every movement, every time she felt his skin against her own, was secretly torture to the red haired Russian. The growing lump within her throat, the memories that haunted her as she tried her best to push it all aside. She could only imagine what was going through his mind, what he was remembering.
It was never his fault, he was following orders he couldn’t say no to. Her hand gently covered his own, her thumb brushing over the back of it as she gave him a warm smile. Green eyes locked with his own stunning blues. “It wasn’t your fault.”
⊰ ★ ⊱—;; "That wasn't my fault. But it was my doing." His hand grips onto her own, holding it up, lips grazing against her knuckles carefully. Her words should bring him some comfort, but all he can think about is how willing he'd once been to go as far as to carve her heart out of her chest if Hydra commanded it.
These thoughts are gone, the willingness to harm now a willingness to protect. Hands that once mistreated her now desperate to show her what his words can't. Her imperfections are beautiful in his eyes, pieces of her that he's prepared to inscribe to memory permanently. But the remorse for what he's done refuses to vanish from his mind. He's hurt her, and nothing could ever make up for that.
