I’m Type A* but with an asterisk. Meaning I’m a gunner and super neurotic and driven and totally all about the work... but me and lists have a complicated history. When I make an actual list I get all obsessive about crossing things off the list and it turns into a whole thing (ie: I get annoying), so I only make them when things get really, really busy. This is my husband. He loves lists... he always has several going at any given time. Lists make him feel calm. Anyway, because of my family’s Thanksgiving/ Mom’s bday visit to LA and Xmas coming (and a large number of family members having bdays in Nov and Dec) we needed a master list... We had a meeting and everything.... it was decided that husband is the “captain” of the master list. Me? I’m the iceberg. Now that we made it I’m always like... how’s the list going? Are we making progress on the list? Are we gonna finish the list? What’s up with list? I want that list crushed and at the bottom of the ocean... that’s why I’m not in charge of the list. I’m allowed to mark things on the list but I can’t add things to it. There are little circles that are by each item, a slash through it means item has been started. A check mark means it’s done. (Pic 1 is day 1 of list, and Pic 2 is today.) We have 36 hours until my Mom arrives.... We had a list meeting last night and we’re in decent shape, but not great shape. (Husband says it’s all good, and I say... really? How do you know? There’s not many checks... there should be more checks. WE NEED MORE CHECKS! Give me that list!!) Basically, what’s happening at our house will be a story I will pitch on the next sitcom I work on... that’s what writers’ rooms are for... to mine all your aberrant behaviors which are deadly serious while living them (I woke up at 4:30AM thinking of the list) but make good stories and happen to be SO FUNNY to everyone else...
