A better way to filter your tank for less money!
Stop spending all your money on carbon filter cartridges for your filter just make your own and increase the efficiency of your HoB filter! > Use 100% polyester (with no additives like flame retardants) that is use for filling pillows or quilt batting as your mechanical filter. Just cut off a strip and stuff it into the space where the mechanical filter usually goes. Change monthly. > Stuff plastic pot scrubbers into available spaces in your filter (without impeding your flow) as a better home for good bacteria, it provides tons of surface area. >Best part? Can buy a year's supply of your own filter material for $5. !!If you choose to do this please make sure to not overhaul your whole filter all at once if the tank is cycled. Replace parts over a week or two.!!
