Hello! Can we have more information about your political marriage AU? Why Obito is the king? And how Kakashi doesn't know that his husband is the purple knight? I like the political but I'm curious about all way Obito will be hide his identity and be part of a revolution...
Hello !! Nice to see you so interested in this AU !!
To answer your first question, I will have to talk a bit about Uchiha history in this AU. The First King, Madara, started the war with the Senjus, and the Second King went on with it. The Third did the same but died at the start of The Troubles. All of them came from major families inside the clan, which eventually became the so-called “reigning” families when the clan became a monarchy.
While the First King had the charisma and strategic mind needed to lead his clan into a total war, things started going awire after his death, and during the Third King’s reign the people revolted against him.
The palace was destroyed, leaving only the throne room standing (barely), the Third King was killed. The riots soon evolved into a civil war, later known as The Troubles, opposing the reigning families and the common folk. This time also saw some major defeats on the Senju front.
During the destruction of the palace, nobles were not the only ones injured or killed. Among the common people suffering from important injuries, a young kitchen boy was particularly horrified by what he saw. With time, he became intimately confinced that the cause of this civil war was the reigning families having become blind to the people, and that the world needed to change.
And if the gods wouldn’t help, then he would change the world himself.
With time, the kitchen boy grew into a leader of the common folk, and ultimately managed to unite the people behind him. He was elected Fourth King. During The Troubles, the reigning families had all either been destroyed or had gone into hiding. Some had even joined with the people. Either way, none had retained their privileges.
The reign of the Fourth King is founded on a definite belief in meritocracy. The King himself has a profound hatred for war, even if he doesn’t believe change can come peacefully.
Anyway that’s the story behind Obito being King. Most of the other Old clans’ heads don’t like him because he comes from. well. a kitchen. But the common folk who know about his origins are pretty inspired by him.
Kakashi /does/ learn Obito is The Purple Knight eventually ! When sparring with him actually, he realizes “hey my husband fights just like- oohhhhhmyyyygoddd”. The Uchihas mostly know about it, if only because purple, just like red, is a royal color in their clan.
Also Obito will not /directly/ be part of the Ame revolution. The idea is that the revolutionaries will take down The Salamender themselves. However, they need allies that will help them on the diplomatic side of things, to ensure the other clans don’t decide to crush the revolution because it threatens their ideals.
So we have Ame revolutionaries going to Obito because he looks like he’d be on their side, and Obito looks to make alliances of his own and encourage change in some other places.
Such allies involve the Uzumakis, with the help of Kushina Uzumaki, the High Priestess of Death, aka the most important person in the dislocated nomad clan that is the Uzumaki clan. (Uzumakis don’t really have a political unity, but the have a religious one and if Kushina says “fuck the gods and the old order” then the others are prbly going to follow in some way.)
Other allies are a bit more complicated, such as the Hyuuga slaves. They are looking for freedom, but cannot attain it without help. As such, the Ame revolutionaries (through the help of the Uchiha King) have come into contact with them, offering their help in exchange for future assistance on the Hyuugas’ part.
Right now, the revolution is still in planning, and is a very underground thing. It will take a few years from the moment Obito is contacted to the moment things start moving more openly.
