Season 5 of The Walking Dead has been really strange. Some of it has been super good, parts have been bad, and others have been flat out weird. The thing that is bugging me is that there are a few things that don’t make sense. It makes me go why did they do that.
The thing that bugs me the most is the whole Grady Hospital story. We really did not need that story line, which started in season 4B when Beth was kidnapped. What I mean is that we could have had the same end result without Beth going to Grady. It all starts with the fall of the prison. Beth could have died in the battle against the governor and never escaped with Daryl. Daryl then could of stayed by himself or escaped with a different survivor. Let’s just say he got out alone, he would have never been hopeful and would still be where he is now. He could of still met up with Joe’s group and then saved Rick, which means he still would have ended up at Terminus. So what was the point of having her with Daryl?
Her dying at the prison would not of affected Maggie anymore than it does now. She thought she was dead. She never thought she was alive, so what's the point of her seeing her dead body? She already gave up on her.
In addition, it would not of changed there overall destination. They would have left right away with Abraham, Rosita, and Eugene to DC. Eugene could have just lied longer so that they were closer to DC. Plus, they ended up heading their because he thought that there would be your best chance at surviving.
Lastly, the two other people who were at Grady didn't need to be included. Carol would not have been injured and would not have needed treatment. She would have still been with Team Family. Then, there is Noah. We could have met him anywhere or not at all because he is most likely going to die.
So what was the point of Grady? We still would have had the end same end result of being in ASZ, Daryl would be depressed, Carol would still be exactly the same, and Beth would still be dead. I just don't get it unless there is a real reason, like Beth surviving. I'm hoping I get some answers tonight, like maybe a coda?
