Thank God for the Cultural and Shopping Sectors, or else this would have been a huge pain in the ass.
Yata had managed to make his little hut surprisingly comfortable and festive for the holiday season. Strung up around the small living room space were red, blue, and white lights, and in the corner he had bought himself a small tree with various ornaments and white lights. Having a job was proving to be especially useful; saving was easier when one had a steady income, and thanks to that, he had been able to decorate. It made coming home to this strange new home.... more tolerable, at the very least.Â
On his two-person kitchen table, he had set out boxes of KFC and a Christmas cake, reminiscent of all the food he would have eaten in Shizume had he been home for the season. Looking at everything brought a somewhat melancholy smile to his face before he quickly shook his head. No! No overthinking things! This was supposed to be a fun night, just hanging out with Bethany and showing her how he did Christmas back home.Â
He was especially proud, too, that he was able to buy her a present.
Yata turned around in a circle before his eyes landed on the wrapped box, taking a few quick strides over to it and picking it up. Making sure that nothing was out of place, he walked to the small tree and set it underneath the bottom branches. Heâd give it to her after theyâd eaten and had started up the TV... Straightening, he took a breath and allowed a grin to form as he reached up and adjusted his Santa hat --might as well joke a little bit about all this, too, right?
Now all he had to do was wait for Beth.
