Renee could attest of this, when Drea had an idea, it was very hard to get her out of said idea. Yes she had been here for a few days now, and got to know people, but she wanted to have her own side project to focus on. And for that, she needed material. Granted some she could find at the junkyard, but some she needed to take away from the fresh pile.

She wasn't sure who was doing what, but people referred to Beth as the inventory manager, exactly who she needed to talk to , in order to get things going. Asking around where Beth was, she ended her search at the garden. Looking for the description Renee had given her for Beth : brown hair , blue eyes , she had the choice between three women. "Beth ? " she asked loudly, just waiting for the one who matched the name to turn and face her. "Hey, hi , I'm Andrea, Drea...Renee's sister... you got a minute ? "

He’d wanted to make sure he had everything in order before he reached out to Bethany for the first time in over four years. Deadbeat Dad was a thought that came to mind, and as much as he hated it, it wouldn’t exactly be inaccurate if attributed to him. But he hoped that maybe if he set himself up with an apartment and a job, it might help mitigate that label. It had taken over a month, but he found a shitty studio walk-up and enough freelance work to get by. Actually, the apartment had taken two weeks, the work had taken another one, and the remaining time had all been spent working up the courage to come here.

He figured approaching her in a public place was best, and somewhere she wouldn’t be with Elizabeth so she wouldn’t feel like he was ambushing her. Her work was the most logical choice, and so he waited until all the children had left for the day before camping out at the entrance to the employee parking lot. 

Every time he saw someone approaching, his heart stopped at the thought that it might be her. By his estimation, he’d lost about 37 beats when he finally saw her, and though he had rehearsed in his head a thousand times what he wanted to say, the words suddenly escaped him. “Hi,” he said lamely, and prepared himself for an onslaught. 

“Think I missed the memo here. It’s only mother’s here.” Ethan shook his head as he stood by Beth at the food table and grabbed a mini sausage roll. As the only father at the PTA meeting, he stood out like a sore thumb. “You’re clearly the coolest of them all.” He couldn’t help but notice a few snobby looking ones.
