MEANING OF THE WHIP?
A whip is an official from a political party that acts as the party's enforcer inside the legislative assembly. Every major party in India appoints whips to ensure discipline and good conduct on the House floor. A whip is an important office bearer for the party in Parliament. The Chief Whip is a member of the House who is responsible for issuing whips. Parties also appoint additional Whips. India took the British parliamentary system's concept of the whip from Britain.
