Ok, so just watched Ten Inch Hero, and no one that I could gush about the movie with that I wouldn't care about spoiling it for is in shouting distance, so just going to throw this out into the world of tumblr.

FUCKING AWESOME MOVIE. Oh my god, I only watched it after seeing something about Sean Patrick Flannery being in it on the Boondock Saints tag, but ten minutes in and I was in love with almost every single character, another five and it made it's way into my top favorites. If their are some of you just kinda browsing this, I'll say this before I lose you: Watch it!! Clever writing, amazingly funny and relatable, maybe a bit corny, but it's hard to do a romcom without, right?

Now, it wasn't perfect, don't get me wrong, but all the issues were in my mind kind of minor if you look at it from all angles. Again, corny, a lot of story lines following the same track at once, but again, this time it kind worked in a not so hey-lets-all-gain-happiness-and-understanding way, but more like a this-is-how-life-goes-on-and-comes-full-circle-without-making-a-ten-hour-movie way. And when I mean same track, I don't mean everybody doing same the fucking thing, each story line was really original and clever.

My biggest and at the same time smallest issue was when Priestly asked out Tish. No problem with the couple, or how he did it. In fact, I felt like I should of seen it coming, (not the couple, I mean the how) but I didn't. Here's my issue: I do not like how he had to change his appearance to win the girl. In fact, I thought one of the points of their little story line was supposed to show that he didn't have to. I mean, I was okay with it when it happened, but afterwards I was a little sad to see that he wasn't back to his awesome punk self at the wedding. However, I have come to terms with this relatively quickly after coming to two conclusions. 1. Really, he didn't have to. It was obvious from the beginning that he and Tish had mutual things for each other. And it wasn't Tish's problem what he looked like, more that she didn't think he wanted someone like her. So it wasn't that he had to, but that Priestly wanted to. Which brings me to 2. I looked at it from the writers point of view, and realized that Priestly's change was more than an act of compliance with the social standard of who Tish was expected to be with. More so, it was showing that he and she did not need to worry about that shit. That who she was or he was didn't matter to him and shouldn't to her, no matter how many guys she'd slept with. She was who he liked and their outer appearances were not in their top list of priorities.
