Chapter Summary: Vee rests, but frankly it wasn't enough.
First Chapter
Mmmmmm... Her bed, thank fucking God.
Vee only peeled off her shoes before throwing herself into her bed. She should get undressed. Her clothes would surely wrinkle...... nah. Too much work. Hands reached for a pillow to cuddle. Her smooth screen nuzzled it.
Astro wandered in a moment later. At least she assumed it was Astro. Frankly, she didn't care to turn over and look. That familiar blue blanket was throw across the room. Yep, Definitely Astro. The other Main pried the pillow from her arms to tuck himself in them instead, climbing over her in the process. Despite the day she's had the sight of her Astro cuddled against her, cheek squished in her bosom, and those pouty lips, brought a tender smile to her own.
After a few easy minutes of silence. Just Astro's breath and Vee's fans humming softly, Astro spoke. A strained mumble muffled by their contact. "I'll have to skip my mid day nap... maybe even my quarter day nap?" A whine spilled from his lips.
"Why?"
"... The movie, Vee."
"Oh yeah." She held him tighter, curling over his form, her legs tangling with his. It was always a tad awkward seeing as Astro was a good 2 feet taller than her, but they made do. And really, as long as they were together they would.
"I expected you'd be more upset?" Astro peaked at her through heavy eyelids, head turning just enough to do so.
Vee shrugged. "Maybe tomorrow, too fucking tired."
One palm cupped the corner of her screen. His eyes widened just slightly as he scanned her face, clearly fighting to keep them open. How silly. "My poor bot." Soft, and sweet.
Vee hugs him tightly. Screen nuzzled in the corner of his neck, enjoying the warmth of his exposed flesh. "I am a poor bot... I knew you'd get it..."

"Wait- but- h-how could a Toon have a Soulmate?"
Huh? Where was she? Wasn't she just with... with... with who again?
Huh...
...
...
...
Veronica stared at the little Toon giggling across the room. Vee wasn't paying attention to them at all.
"I used parts of human DNA to create them." Delilah hummed as she took a sip from her thermos of tea. It was slotted back into the fabric cup holder attached to the arm rest of her wheel chair a moment later. "It was always a possibility."
Oh yeah, Ms. Keen came to see her.
Veronica drummed at the coffee table as the silence stretched on. Since Veronica came on as her handler Vee's gotten a few more furniture peices. A bed, a VHS player, and T.V.
Vee... never really seemed to care. Well, about anything, really. Except maybe her music? Even then, did she actually like playing or did she play solely because it is what she's made to do?
What a dumb bitch...
"She's like a different person."
Vee layed, stomach first, on the floor. Her eyes glued to her arm. He- Sprout was drawing a picture on her arm. Of the two of them playing with Pebble. It definitely wasn't the best peice of art in her database, even for stick figure drawings, but...
Now this was silly to even think...
Maybe those obvious flaws were charming?
She pulled down the sleeve of her other arm, eyes stalling on the first, like she'd miss everything by looking away for one second. She wrote on the blank arm. 'It looks pretty.'
He wrote back instantly, underneath her words. 'Thak you (:' Then some more. 'You pretty to!'
Well, of course she is! Hehe!
Vee pressed her warm screen into her forearms. A little giggle bubbled from her speakers. Her tail flicked happily behind her.
"It's kind of creepy..."
Delilah looked over at Veronica with one arched brow, judgemental.
Ugh, don't be a pussy! She cleared her throat, still, words spilled out faster than she could think. "Uh! I just mean it a-as she's never been this emotive!"
Eyes drifted back to the Toon. Delilah nodded. "Yes, I'll talk with Ms. Mclaughlin. Frankly, I'm quite curious. This may be the answer to certain issues you've been having with her."
"Heh... yeah...."
...
...
Does that mean she'll get to see Sprout soon?
She hopes so!
...
...
He's always so much fun to play with...
So silly, and cute...
She hasn't played with him in so long...
But...
Why was that?
...
When you left I lost a part of me.
That stupid bitch won't even let them be in the same room alone.
Is it too hard to believe?
But it wasn't that? They had... uh.........?
Come back baby please cuz
What is that?
We belong together.
Oh, Glisten's playing his sappy ass songs again.
Who else am I 'gon lean on when times get rough?
When did Glisten get here? Where even... is heeeere?
Other senses flooded in before her sight. Soft sheets, gentle snores, aches in her joints. Instinctually, she stretched. Further and further until her foot collided with something fluffy, but solid. It whimpered tiredly.
Who's gonna talk to me on the phone til the sun comes up?
Vee lifted her head as much as she could with Astro latched on to her. Camera flickered on. Oh yeah, Goob’s here. The craft was curled up at the end of the bed. Like a dog, Vee thought. Heh.
Who's gonna take your place, there ain't no body better?
Glisten was there too, of course. Snuggled up against Astro's back.
Oh baby, baby, we belong together.
I can't sleep at night, when you are on my mind.
Ugh.
Vee glanced at Glisten. He was definitely asleep. "Dude needs to learn to set a sleep timer for fucks sake..." She grumbled to herself as she reached over the two other toons.
Bobby Womack's on the radio.
The little pink mp3 player was juuuust out of reach. "Nggh!" Being careful not to crush Astro, she rolled over.
Saying to me 'if you think your lonely now'.
Then crawled over Glisten. The mp3 player was snatched up.
Wait a minute this is too de-
Ah. Slience.
Mmmm...
Vee wedged herself back next to Astro. Even deep in sleep her reached out for her. Something about that image had her nonexistent stomach turn usually. Still, she took him into her arms. Maybe there was a reason they hadn't had a sleepover in a while.
Whatever.
Her cable was still attached. Not pinned, or pulled, or anything like that. All there was left to do was engage sleep mode.
That's what she did. More so to end that strange feeling than it's intended purpose.

Vee slid herself into the wall of the booth. Metal hand patted the wall to find the outlet she knew was there. The other 3 took their own seats as she plugged herself in. Power flowed into her. Ah...
Vee leaned back into the back rest as Glisten went on and on.
"It's just like soooooo crazy that Ms. Keen thought it's a good idea to make Shrimpo the male lead!?" The mirror gestured wildly as he talked. A subtle pout formed on his lips. "He probably won't even show. So, she'll need someone-" A delicate hand gestured to himself, lashes batting. "-else for the role regardless."
"Well..." The usually joyful craft worked his mouth against his teeth Not exactly frowning, but definitely less enthusiastic. Like... he was thinking over his answer carefully, as to not offend. Huh. "He's been making a lot of progress in our band. So..." There was that smile. Still... it seemed a tad forced? "I bet she has faith that he can do it!"
But what did Vee know? She only spent time around the goof when he was with Glis or Astro.
Glisten rolled his eyes. A scoff in the pause. "You're too sweet, Gooby. He completely fucked your last performance. I would not call that progress."
"No one was expecting to have to switch instruments! Come on, I kept loosing my sticks! I think that was way worse!"
"At least you even..."
Honestly, Vee tuned them out pretty quickly. Just fidgeting with the switch on her mic. On, and off, and on, and off. For once she didn't feel like chiming in. Probably, her unusually low batteryto blame. This was going to throw of her entire day, wasn't it? Crap.
She could probably get her battery to 70% before practice started. She's lucky it was Sunday. No kids to entertain. No handlers breathing down their necks. She should finalize her show questions after, buuuut maybe she'll watch a movie? She deserved it.
Oh, Today was a Madea day! She felt a particular urge to rewatch 'A Madea Family Funeral'. Yeah, she'd do that.
"Good morning everyone!" When she was pulled back into the here and now she was made aware of berryboy's presence at the end of the booth. A couple of 'morning's were spoken back in response. She found herself mumbling the same. A tray of food balanced in one of his hands. It was placed at the edge of the table a moment later. His eyes briefly flicked to Vee, and then to the food. "Alright, I've got a stack of pancakes with chocolate chips, blueberries, and whipped cream-"
"That's me!" The craft waved his paw. Legs kicked excitedly as the plate was given to him.
"An oatmeal with five apple slices and eight banana slices-"
"You made sure-"
"Yes, Glisten. Exactly one teaspoon of sugar."
He eyed the little bowl sild in front of him with suspicion. "W-well, I was just asking because yesterday it tasted sweeter than usual."
Sprout's face almost made ber laugh, almost. Lips pulled into a tight line, just blinking at the mirror for a solid 2 seconds. His features softened when he looked to Astro. "Aaaaaaand Astro's coffee!" Another plate was slid in front of the main. A warm bagel, cut in half, and slathered in peach jelly rested upon it. A gentle hand was placed on Astro's back, an even gentlier voice accompanying it. "Let me know if you want another."
Astro smiled tiredly. "Thank you "
"Everything good?" He looked over everyone's faces, seemly just stalling? Glisten, then Goob, then Vee, then Astro. Then over again. But actually, she could have sworn he looked at her a bit longer. No, at the cable connected to the side of her head.
Vee spoke up when he still didn't piss off. "I'm pretty sure we're good, Seedly."
"Yeah." He stood there a moment longer, before shaking his head and making his way back to the kitchen.
"Mmmmm! Sprout's pancakes are so gooood!"
"They do look good."
"Do you want a taste?"
What a werido! Vee was a grown women! She didn't need some dumbass, who can't even take care of himself, fretting over her just because she needed to charge. Because that's exactly what it was. Regrettably, she knew Sprout Seedly quite well, and that's just like him! She wouldn't be surprised if he hasn't eaten yet.
Idiot.
"Tsk... this is way too much! Do you want some Gooby?" Glisten whined. It looked like he barely touched it. Goob looked over at the little bowl Glisten nudged to him, mouth already stuffed with pancakes, dripping with syrup.
Vee shook her head. "Just finish it, dude."
Glisten huffed, arms crossed. "I literally can't though! I have a tiny stomach!"
"Your stomach is very much average, I assure you."
"You know what I mean!"
"And I mean, it's stupid to deny yourself essential nutrients."
"Oh my god! I'm not denying anything!"
Astro reached over the table to take Glisten's hand. "Vee means she's just looking out for you, love."
Goob chugged his glass of orange juice to wash down all that pancake. Does he even chew? "Mhm, try your best to finish, Glissy! We can just chat while you do! Take your time."
He looked between the other Toons, and then huffed. "Fiiiiiine..."
Vee leaned into the table, chin held up by the heel of her palm. She took to scanning over the dinner. Several Toons were eating at other tables, chatting quietly and not so quietly. And there was Sprout. Cosmo literally pushed the main out of the kitchen with a plate of food. One he awkwardly placed at an empty table, and ultimately sat at to eat.
"Good." She mumbled.
"Hm?" Astro hummed from the rim of his coffee cup.
Her eyes flicked to Astro's then down to the table. "Just thinking aloud."
She felt Astro's eyes still on her, but she refused to match his gaze. "Okay." One of his hands snaked out of his blanket to give her knee a gentle squeeze.
