#berry patch

This one is going to be a little more involved than I originally imagined. 😅 I wrote a bit for @1lostsoul0fishbowl here and a bit for you below.

After a while Trip felt T’Pol’s eyes on him and he took his cue to turn and smile softly at her. “We still have several hours of freedom. What do you want to do now?”

T’Pol fingered the delicate shawl still wrapped around her shoulders. “Perhaps we could do something you would have enjoyed doing with your sister,” she suggested, sounding almost hesitant. “an activity you might have wanted to introduce to our Elizabeth?”

Surprised, Trip inhaled a shaky breath and reached for her hand, hoping she’d understand he just needed a moment to let grief loosen its grip on his throat.

“Yeah, that… I’d really like that.”

T’Pol squeezed his hand gently.

Now he just had to think of something Lizzie had enjoyed that T’Pol could at least tolerate.

The beach?

Or maybe they could find a baseball game somewhere. Lizzie had loved baseball. Trip had never seen T’Pol demonstrate even the faintest interest in sports, but maybe she’d be willing to give it a try.

He conjured up a mental image of T’Pol wearing a ballcap and sitting on an uncomfortable metal bench while meticulously keeping score. He could get her a jersey and a clipboard.
