NOTE: my main intent in drawing these silly cartoons is to teach and not to preach…but I can’t help but comment on things that inspire me, good and bad. I champion things I support and lampoon things I oppose. I am a firm believer in speaking one’s mind in a deliberate and respectful way. When I was in school I learned the most from teachers who were passionate and thoughtful. Even if I didn’t agree with everything they said, I respected them for sharing their opinions. Good teachers, I think, point you in the right direction; bad teachers keep you cloistered from reality. I don’t expect that a silly vocab cartoon will get everyone to jump on the Bernie bandwagon, but I still feel compelled to do what I can to get his message out there since he is facing a mountain of establishment opposition and propaganda. The Internet and social media is the media of the grassroots, the media of the people.
