Not gonna lie it’s one of my absolute favorite aspects to write. Just the Batchers with their pregnant S/O. It’s a long-standing love of mine.

Crosshair acquiring little gifts/trinkets for his unborn baby.

Heart go brrrrr the first time she walks out in his blacks sporting her little swell.

Achingly gentle.

Lots of soft smiles and soft eyes when she’s not looking. Quiet admiration.

Fretting over her and baby the moment he found out but internalizing the shit out of it. In dire need of emotional support. Wrought with worry for the next solid nine months and swears his hair gets substantially grayer in that time. Wouldn’t trade it for anything. It makes him a better man.

Had to stave off the caff- for his and Auntie’s sake.

Always holding her. Always always. He just. Has this overwhelming need to keep her close. Keep the baby close. That’s his family. He’ll never let them go.

Literally his two favorite people.

Being the absolute best at helping her through her morning sickness.

Massaging away the aches and pains.

Quietly taking care of all the chores so that she can rest.

First ultrasound image shared between them is special. (Reminder Cross carries it with him from that moment on and guards it with his life.)

Murmuring sweet nothings in her ear when he thinks she’s asleep.

Just obsessed with her comfort. Always making sure she’s warm and cozy as can be with blankets, pillows, the works.

Listening to her gush about all things baby. Hooked on every word. His smile growing at the way she glows.

Lowkey terrified of the raging hormones - the spicy end of it. No denying he loves it, but needs continual reassurance he won’t hurt anything.

Can’t keep his hands off of her really. Newfound curves to explore and he’s not gonna pass up an opportunity to make her feel good.

Privately thinking of baby names. Ends up scrapping each one. “Bernadine” just. No. “Asher” was Auntie’s gem.
