Köpernicker Str. 137 in Berlin, Köpi. Is one of the most fascinating places I have ever seen. It blows my mind to be honest, if you're in Berlin you should absolutely check it out but make sure you respect those living there and come when there is an event or when it is “open” to the public. It is one of Berlin’s few legalized squats still around, Köpi provides not only a home for over fifty inhabitants but it is also a space for non-commercial culture. Events range from screen printing workshops to self defense classes, as well as a many of music events. The building itself is large and old, covered with graffiti, posters, art and messages. What I adore is how loud and proud it is along with its people, in a world where activism and “leftism” is often frowned upon it’s so nice to walk around an iconic building like this and read NO BORDERS on the wall for everyone to see. Watch people of different backgrounds, lives, stories, opinions and class be affected by this place in some way. The set of rules that they live by. I love it, controversial as it may be for some as a “must see when in Berlin spot”. You should check it out!
