I’ve always had this thought that because Five didn’t complete his task of assassinating JFK properly, it caused a chain reaction in history, leading to the lack of technological advancements in their version of 2019.
I think that the Cold War raged on longer than expected meaning money was invested into military, the Berlin War is still standing so Germany never became the technological powerhouse it is and lastly the twin towers were never attacked which meant it didn’t spark 9/11 and the war on terrorism.
