I really enjoy writing music.
So Berlin Strings recently had an update to the ‘Capsule’ system (as did the other Berlin instruments). But the strings had a nice surprise, in the form of a new legato: fingered! The following little tune is in 3 parts, each iterating over the arpeggio twice:
1) Fingered Legato
2) Slurred Legato
3) Agile Legato
There is a ‘Fast Runs’ legato, but as the name suggests, it’s not really suitable for this kind of playing. So, does this blow all other violin libraries out of the water, or what?

Also, for anyone who hasn't heard the majesty of Berlin Strings, I plonked Vienna Courtyard on youtube, along with the atypical, placeholder cello picture from wikipedia...
And for the musically inclined tonight, have some noise of me testing out Berlin Strings.
Some things to note: 1) There is a lot of player nuance built into the samples (such as shuffling, breathing, etc, as you will hear). Not everyone's cup of tea, but I like it! 2) The runs in the middle are actually the legato patches. They handle runs REALLY well, but there are also playable runs available, should you decide for a more conventional way of doing things. 3) The patches hog the RAM like crazy. Lucky I have a beefy computer!
I haven't done any solid progressions in ages, so I'm proud of the modulation to minor at the end. Especially because I sent it in a very different direction, musically speaking.
I don't have a fancy name for this one.

The one thing I like the most about this library is it feels classical. Like, the strings are completely pure, allowing you to shape them how you feel. Adagio is great, but it slants towards Hollywood style music. You can use Berlin for pretty much anything.
Each section blends really well too.
