The Silver State Saloon - Beowawe - (Beowawe is a small town in Eureka County, Nevada) seems a lonely place to visit...

Eclipse reflection, projected. Rest station near Beowawe, Nevada. 14 Oct 2023.
The sun, though partially eclipsed and shrouded in clouds, proved nonetheless too bright for my camera to image. But a surprise was waiting when I looked back at what I had captured: a chance reflection of the sun in the camera lens, appearing to hang in miniature low above the horizon between a tree and a lamppost, slightly left of center. The reflection appears turned 180 degrees upside down, as I took this photo after the annular phase of the eclipse when only the lower portion of the sun was obscured. The reflection, however, resembles what the actual eclipse looked like in the partial phase prior to annularity.

Near Beowawe
This westbound train is seen just west of Beowawe, Nevada. The train is dedicated to transporting fresh vegetables to the east and so is made up entirely of reefers. This type of rail car used blocks of ice back in the day to stay cool, but now are refrigerated. Here it is seen headed back toward California and the Central Valley.
