I tap out a light drum beat against my knees as I wait for Miranda to take the stage. I look down at my outfit: black dress pants, a light purple dress shirt and a black tie. However, everyone else in the front row is proud parents in suits and fancy dresses.

The worries immediately leave me as the lights dim slightly, a spot light shining in the center of the auditorium stage. The light click of heels leads up to Miranda's form coming into the light.

I feel my breath catch; she looks like an angel. Literally.

Her white dress is tight against her, contrasting the dark wood of her violin as she brings it into position. The first note of the song flows off the strings like silk and I'm suddenly in a whole new world.

The song is dramatic, every note flowing and adding effect to the overall emotion as she flies through it effortlessly. I lean forward in my seat, catching her eye for a split second. She smiles, but continues on with the song. She didn't know I was even home, much less coming to her concert. 

As soon as the song ends, the entire crowd erupts into applause and I'm on my feet, prompting a full house standing ovation as she bows and smiles.

I resist the urge to brag and yell "THAT'S MY GIRLFRIEND" through the entire room as I grab the bouquet of flowers from under my seat and run to take them backstage.

I hide them behind my back as I sneak my way back, finding her putting her violin back in its case. She looks up in shock after I tap her on the shoulder.

"I knew it was you!" She exclaims, still frozen at her spot. I bring the yellow roses around from behind me and hand them to her. She runs towards me then, throwing her arms around my neck and kissing me deeply, making me realize just how much I missed her.
