I think Peter Stone would be way better partner to Olivia than Stabler...Olivia is always going to have a subordinate relationship to elliot no matter the work rank difference...she needs an equal or someone a little outside her police work domain...plus I like the older woman, younger man dynamic!

I am on season 20 of my svu rewatch....ok...I still remember why I love stone...the guy is a badass and gets right to it....an interesting observation though...they totally fast tracked stone and Liv's relationship...I think they were hoping that stone would be a long-term relationship for liv...don't know what happened with winchester's contract or commitments but I think this was meant to be more than what we saw on the show...Peter and liv became really close fast...much faster than barba or even elliot...hell he started calling her liv near end of season 19...before that he was all 'Leuteinant this, Leuteinant that ' for a couple of episodes...still think he gives elliot a run for his money....

somehow it is hilarious and adorable and horrible all at the same time that nearly every ada who walks into svu ends up wrecked after getting to know olivia benson
