Alice had been drifting hard since she left the auror department, there was no denying it. She hadn’t really had a plan when she quit. She hadn’t thought it through or mapped it out or considered the consequences which was not how she liked to do things. There had only been one other point in her life when Alice made such a hasty decision, and just like when she left home, she ended up at the Three Broomsticks. Lucia had been more than happy to let Alice pick up shifts, she had plenty of experience from pitching in to help out during the summers of her later years at Hogwarts. It was helping to make ends meet, to keep Alice’s financial head above water while she figured out what she would do next. Between her savings and what she was earning at the Three Broomsticks, Alice calculated she had a few months to make and execute a plan if she was very careful.

In the meantime, Alice was pouring drinks and serving patrons with a sunny smile, something she was quite good at, if not enthused by. She’d also gained a bit of a reputation, in the weeks since she returned to the pub, as a stricter enforcer than Lucia. The older woman wasn’t a push over, by any means, but she was much gentler than Alice when it came to cutting people off. So Alice had been keeping a close eye on Benjy Fenwick all night, pouring drink after drink and not saying anything, but soon she would need to change that. Benjy Fenwick wasn’t one of the newest members of the Order, but he’d been operating overseas for years, only coming back to the country this year, after Alice was outed and started doing less and less work for the Order. So he wasn’t someone she knew well, but that had never stopped her before.

The next time he shuffled up to the bar, she put the bottle of whiskey on the counter between them, but made no move to pour. “You sure you wanna go there?” Her voice was not unfriendly, but there was a note of warning in it all the same. She didn’t want him to feel judged, but she did want him to know it was a bad idea.

Damocles had just recently returned after recuperating from his injuries, and yet, he found himself missing meetings once more. He had been excited to return to his usual schedule that he’s has gotten accustomed to. His work during the day fairly remained the same as the time before he joined the Order. The only difference was that he excuses himself earlier to work on his experiments so he could have time to attend the meetings at night. The potioneer was looking forward to easing into the same routine once more. But after Adonis knocked at his door and asked for his aid, he had to push the meetings aside so that he could see the project’s result sooner than he previously planned for.

That night, Damocles knew that a meeting was taking place. The thought of ending his work early to drop by and catch what he can popped into his mind every now and then. But when he finally decided and apparated within Hog’s Head’s vicinity, it was clear that the meeting was over. Most of the members have left. Only one familiar face remained: Fenwick. 

She was currently sat at the bar, a cocktail in her hand. She liked muggle bars. The music was good, and the people were friendly. She really had no idea how people could dislike this. She smiled to herself, taking a sip of her drink. 

Lily: if you're trying to avoid me

Lily: it won't work

But Narcissa has never been able to say no to a challenge. 

She chose the small office space she has for their meeting, figuring their first introduction should set a more professional tone. She likes the space; there’s a small five-person conference room, a little break area, and her private office. The rent is absurdly high, but Narcissa is finally starting to see enough profit to make it worth it. 

“I’m glad you could make it,” Narcissa begins as she leads him to the conference room. “Can I get you anything to drink? Coffee, water, tea?” She opens up the door and lets him slide inside. She lingers towards the entrance, just in case he requests something. Her own hands are full with her tablet, stylus, and mug of coffee. 

It was about five minutes later when she gave up ,and decided to go get some coffee instead. Whilst she was there, she grabbed an extra mug. There was at least one other person on a paperwork day, or paperwork year so it seemed. Alice did feel sorry for Benjy. She didn’t know what she would do if she was forced to do paperwork. She had a grin on her face as she placed the mug on his desk.

“Can’t say I don’t look after you”

Minerva tugged the sleeve of her jumper farther down her arm, trying to make sure that the healing wounds that surrounded her wrists were still covered. St. Mungos’ top priority had been taking care of her more serious injuries, and though they had given her a potion to keep her smaller wounds from scarring, she still had to wait for them to heal with time instead of with magic. She picked up her fork and prodded the piece of pie on the plate in front of her, keeping her eyes averted from the other patrons of the shop.

Minerva had been released from St. Mungo’s only two days ago, and already Albus had been encouraging her to get out of the castle. She couldn’t bring herself to face the Three Broomsticks--not when she would be on the receiving end of Ivy’s concerned stares. This pie shoppe that she had only visited a few times previously seemed to be the safest option. She would eat her pie (or push it around for a reasonable amount of time) and then retreat to the safe haven of her rooms in Hogwarts.

She was startled from her thoughts by the sound of a voice tentatively calling her name. She looked up to meet the eyes of Benjy Fenwick and resisted the urge to wince as a flood of memories came returning to her. Benjy had been a part of the party that had...rescued her. She forced herself to give him a small smile. “Benjy!” She exclaimed, ignoring the false high note that her voice landed on. “What are you doing here?”
