In case you are not familiar with my ocs Mortimer is a 24 y.o undertaker, aka funeral director in 19 century. They are somber, distant and avoidant. Still Mortimer is capable of empathy and often comforts their clients in times of loss. Before Fromville they also used to help the murderer to cover their murders, even killed some people themselves.

After a bitter fight with their dear murderous friend, Mortimer couldn't take the heavy weight of this double life. Both of their lives became miserable, they had nobody to turn to, so they took a horse, that was attached to old hearse and hit the road. In hopes to find a cliff or other place Mortimer ran into a tree... Mortimer turned back but ended up in this small town almost by sunset. Locals were confused to see a guy on horse instead of a car, but whatever. They stopped Mortimer and convinced them to stay for night. Mortimer believed in tales about monsters, but thought locals were just talking about wild animals. Mortimer didn't want the horse to get attacked by "wolfes or bears", besides it needed rest, so Mortimer stayed.

This night they've heared and saw though windows the real monsters. This is how Mortimer realised they've really stucked here.

Later Mortimer decided to move to old church, since they are an undertaker, they simply continued doing their job +embalming at Fromville. They had some instruments in the hearse and what a miracle their cat somehow got in hearse as well. Now the town has a lovely little kitten and a horse.

Mortimer still felt horrible. They were stressing out constantly and one day they hang themselves in church. Luckily the rope couldn't hold them and they survived. Mortimer stayed at clinic for couple of days before moving to Colony House.
