If you are an artist of any kind, I cannot recommend this video (or this man, Benjamin Zander) highly enough. I watched this last night, and I bawled. My husband cried (and I have seen him cry less than a score of times in as many years!!). This man, this beautiful, wonderful, insightful, thoughtful, positive, passionate man is an absolute gift. The way he talks about music so perfectly echoes the way I think about the role any art plays, and the relevance of that art to humanity. The way he encourages and inspires this student is just magnificent. It’s such a perfect example of how I long to encourage and inspire people. He just ... makes the world a better place.
