[ID: Panels from chapter 120 of Natsume's Book of Friends. Beniko is reminiscing about looking at a kaleidoscope with her grandfather as a little girl. Young Beniko sees a pattern of flowers, saying, "Wow, so pretty...Ooh...Oh!" She hands the kaleidoscope to her grandfather, saying, "Grandpa, look! It's really pretty right now! Careful! Don't shake it!" It makes a clicking noise as he puts it up to his eye and says, "Oh?" The pattern has shifted. He says, "Hmm? It looks like a bunch of demon faces lined up." Young Beniko is upset. She says, "Aw, Grandpa! You shifted it, didn't you! I swear! It was pretty when I had it! I wanted you to see it too! I wanted...to share it with you..." /end ID]
ohhh i think i must have missed this before but this makes it explicit that the reason beniko resented her grandfather's sight was not so much that he could see things that she couldn't, it's that he couldn't see the things that she could, because he was seeing these other things instead. like, being able to see youkai wasn't the problem, it's that he made relationships with youkai that precluded him having relationships with humans, beniko included. she feels like he chose them over her.
I have been sooooo nostalgic for my really old Naruto OCs recently so I had to let out the feels by drawing some of them...these are Ryuuta (green), Kumiko (yellow), Rie (blue) and Beniko (red).
They're in a love triangle/quadrangle with Ryuuta as the linchpin and they are so dear to me!
This is the expansions as a whole.

So I’ve managed to get my hands on some settei for the third anime series and since they come with a list of character heights I report them as usual.
A commission of my SWTOR Sith Warrior OC, done for me by the extremely talented @lokorum. Thank you so much to them for being my go to commission person.
In this one we see my Sith Warrior in the midst of a battle with Lana Beniko at his side. As a power couple, it only makes sense that they would fight side by side.

Sadia Ginnis was head cryptanalyst of the Alliance Code-breaking Department’s GEMINI division, otherwise called ‘Blaecca’s Street’. No one knew why Lady Beniko had chosen the name but her friend Billie, who had worked on Beniko’s staff until the disaster on Ziost, said that it might be the Lady’s love of literary references peeping through her ice-cold exterior.
Billie had said that the Sith sometimes worried over the possible code names for key operations and missions, and would with an enigmatic smile write out some seemingly random name and chuckle to herself. The idea floating around Imperial Intelligence was that these names had some significance, possibly vague references to stories of espionage and investigation.
The idea that the Lady was a closet romantic wildly amused Sadia’s team, endearing their taciturn boss to them.
