So throughout this book he's obsessed with this married woman named Sarah, and the way he treats her half the times is bullying (to be fair, he's pretty much a condescending jerk towards everyone.  He's basically just a prick who wants to feel superiority over everyone around him, which probably stems from an inferiority complex caused by his lame leg).  But Book Four is where it starts to get real creepy.  Dudebro calls her up being all, "I know you love me, you WILL see me" and Sarah's sick and doesn't want to see him.  He basically says, "Yeah, okay, YOU WILL SEE ME or I will come to where you live and force myself into your apartment to see you."  No, really.  He tells her that he'll fight the maid if she tries to stop him from coming in.

And then a few minutes later, he stalks the outside of her apartment, and when he sees her leave it, he follows her without her knowing like the creep he is.  While he follows her, we get real winning statements from him like "she will need somewhere to sit down and then I have her trapped" and "I felt I had won the game already, and I could feel a certain pity for my victim."  And throughout he tells us that they're going to sleep together regardless of how she's acting now because they love each other and if two people love each other they will sleep together.

And then he catches up to her in a church trying to have some alone time, and he comes up to her and starts groping her and telling her that he knows she loves him.  Of course, since she's sick, she's really weak and needs to lean against him, and he thinks he's won something.  And then he basically bullies her into agreeing to run away with him.

I'm just so frustrated right now.  That's not romantic, that's sexual harassment and rape.  And okay, he didn't rape her, but he was intending to coerce her to have sex with him, which is rape.  He sounds  like a serial killer or rapist (or, for all you Tumblr users, a nice guy in a fedora's fantasy).  Hell, I've seen less creepy serial killers (rapists all give me the same level of repulsion).  And what bothers me the most is that two men in my class, one of them being my professor, actually said that they were rooting for this guy last class.  I cannot fathom how anyone can support this relationship between him and Sarah given how unhealthy and disturbing it is.  Sarah, run the other way.  Divorce your husband since you don't love him anyways, and call the cops on Bendrix and don't stop running until you've got a restraining order or your head's going to wind up being kept on his bedside table for him to kiss at night.

Oh wait, no, you already dead.
