If only you could make all decisions based on logic, slowly you would find all therapists and counselors losing their jobs.
You all come across situations at work and in your personal life where logic means nothing, it could make you feel safe about your decision but doesn't always make you happy. This is when you need your emotional intelligence.
If you can actively reflect and be conscious of not killing the human side of you, especially at work by being more understanding of other people's different experiences, emotions, and feelings about a subject, you might end up making life a little less complicated than it is. The human side of you should not be overruled by the auto-pilot law-abiding, profit-oriented, and logical side of you. Sometimes your decisions can make logical sense in the short term, but they will have a lasting impact on your relationship with your employee/colleagues and will not be good in the long term.
Try activating your emotional intelligence, and don't judge but understand; you might see long-term impacts where you no longer need to worry about retaining staff and dealing with all the additional problems you create because logic feels safe.
