ᴠᴀʟᴇɴᴛɪɴᴇ ʀᴇᴀᴅ: ℝ𝕆𝕄𝔸ℕℂ𝔼⁠ ⁠ Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟⁠ ⁠ ❄ I first read this book in 2016, I rememberer it as a copy I had asked my school librarian to buy. This is the 3rd read now. In 2016, I was reading all the good books, but after reading 11 books of Gerri Hill and I loved them all, I decided to get my own copies. Now I have them all and I have read them all. ⁠ ⁠ ⁠ ⁠ ❄ I chose Snow Falls for my valentine read because I love the simplicity of the love story between Ryan and Jen. It was such a small circle but well-known. The ever annoying mom, the absent dad, the casanova-brother, and adoring Grandma. Then we got solid friendships on both sides. THEMES: DETECTIVE. POLITICS. RACISM. ⁠ ⁠ Rating: 🌟🌟🌟☆⁠ ☆⁠ ⁠ ☛ The first 3 books were outstanding. This one was slightly underwhelming. I read the first three books in 2 days because, everything from the story, the action, the craziness, the acceptance, literally everything was amazing. ⁠ ⁠ ⁠ ☛ This one didn't really click the hype, for me, as the first 3 books did. And the book series being called "Chiara Corelli Mystery Series" but the book having only one under-chapter as her POV didn't thrill me. There is just something about Chiara Corelli's character that captivates you in a way that Penelope Jasmine Parker's character doesn't. Yes, P.J. was interesting in the books before but in this one, her POV or character wasn't well exploited to captivate me like Chiara Corelli was. If you read the first 2 books, you can clearly see that. ⁠ ⁠ ☛ There are many stories that intrigue me and as a black woman, racism stories don't intrigue me one bit. I just end up being angry about things I can't seem to control. This is a crime series, so it is understandable that this plot was visited. But I wasn't really satisfied. Now that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy the wins of the team. That was rather fabulous. THEMES: ROMANCE. CONTEMPORARY. AGE-GAP. WORKPLACE. GRIEF. FAMILY. LIEUTENANT/DOCTOR. ANGST. ⁠ ⁠ Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟☆⁠ ⁠ ⁠ 🌟 A beautiful story indeed. The book is well written and the events are so carefully planned that it was very moving. There were moments that really touched me, my kindle copy is full of highlights. The scenes were so emotionally and beautifully written, I had to save them for reminiscing purposes. I am a suck for angst and emotional wreckage and I tell you, this was such a dose, I am still blissful. Chapter 17 ruined me and Chapter 21 built me whole again. ⁠ ⁠ ⁠ 🌟 All in all, the book was tremendously heart touching. The connection between the characters was written to perfection. What i loved the most was how honest-to-life their flaws were also written. Damn work of art. The first part of the book is cheerful and cute and sweet and the middle part wrecked me, the final part, was such a sweet close-up. One could bow to it. That serenade was so sweet and the dance afterwards…. truly beautiful. ⁠ ⁠ ⁠ 🌟 On the other note, I still didn't get the 3rd revelation, I don't know if i missed but, I am still curious. Second note, between the first and middle part, it got slightly slow.. you know the process when characters fall into a routine that one would do without, BUT after you read the WHOLE book, the can you finally see the purpose of it. I love action and thriller books. It was kind of sad when they shot that poor lady. And talk about a conspiracy because that was wild. Jaime was my favorite character, I loved her tenderness but also stubbornness attitude. 🌟 And when Sara finally opened up to Jaime, it was really cute.
