One Piece and self sacrificing moms*

*Please note that It's not a complete list of self sacrificing moms bc Oda really likes to kill mothers tragically.

1. Bell-mere

I need to start the list with my personal favourite mother of all anime: Bell-mere. She found two orphan girls in a war zone and she adopted them, proving that you don't have to be blood related to someone in order to be their family/mom. Brave Bell-mere even sacrificed her life for her daughters, Nami & Nojiko

2. Portgas D. Rouge

She kept her son 20 months in the womb, so Ace could be born without the World Government knowing his connection to his father. She sacrificed her life to give birth to him.

3. Nico Olvia

She pleaded with Saul to rescue her daughter so Robin wouldn't suffer the same fate with the rest of Ohana citizens. Her final words to her daughter was her telling Robin to live:

She couldn't bear to see her daughter hungry so she went to search for food and unfortunately that lead to her being recognised and ultimately killed. Her final words to the toy soldier ( whom she couldn't recognise as her husband) was to give the food to Rebecca bc she was still concerned about her daughter's well being up until the very end

5. Ginny

She loved her daughter so much that she sacrificed her health and her life to bring her to the safety of Sorbet Kingdom.

6. Shanks and Shamrock's mother

While she was dying she asked Monkey D. Dragon to save her kids because she didn't want them to be raised by someone as cruel as their father:

7. Finally, we have Ripley who was willing to die alongside her son so he wouldn't have to face this scary situation alone:
