Cappuccino Bliss by Anna In NY Via Flickr: One of the delights at Stef & Lisa's house (which is huge & gorgeous) is their espresso maker. It is one of those coffee-pod affairs that makes it a snap to have a delicious cappuccino whenever you want one. I've been having a relaxing morning with my Kindle, greek yogurt & berries and a pair of cappuccinos, a lovely way to wake up and ready myself for all the fun to come when the kids get back from school.

KIM JONG IL IS DEAD.
What's going to happen to North Korea?! He has a hand-picked successor (his son) that he's been grooming to take over his job, but his death was so sudden. The country is bound to be resonating with some amount of instability right now, so what does that mean for its future under Kim Jong Un? There could, of course, be a totally smooth takeover and a whole lot of nothing could happen; however, this is not guaranteed. North Koreans definitely don't respect Kim Jong Un as much as they did Kim Jong Il, and if his inexperience causes any snags in the way he tries to run the country, his subjects might not be as willing to put up with him. But, alas, I, along with the rest of the world, will have to wait and see.
This is really exciting for me because it's such an intriguing, uncertain question. I literally just ran through my house to tell everyone who was home about this news.
And then I came back to my computer and saw that my GSI from my Poli Sci class this semester sent out an email about his death, and now I just really wish I was back at school where I could sit and discuss this kind of thing with people who have built their careers around studying regime changes and autocracies and even people who just want to build their careers around this sort of thing.Â
It's only been two days and I already miss being surrounded by the crazy amount of intellectuals within and around Berkeley.
By the way, if you get the chance, read This is Paradise! by Hyok Kang. It's a shocking but true peek intro the otherwise mysterious and illusive lives of North Korea's citizens. Such an interesting book.
