The Ogham alphabet (or Beith-Luis-Nin) has two interpretations: a medieval text called that Auraicept that ascribes a tree to each character from, and the much older two-word Old Irish kennings that ascribe a more poetic meaning.
UATH is the hawthorn tree - or a scream of fear, as if from condál cúan, a pack of hounds.

This is an Ogham or a Beith-luis-nin chart I made just to keep me and my family familiar with the writing system. It isn’t finished yet; I’ll be decorating it and making it more colourful. I have a few knots in mind, so we’ll see how it goes next Friday.   Â
