Maul Oppress was a Jedi but he was also a Dathomirian Zabarak. A Nightbrother. He taught himself his ways of his people. Getting his very distinctive black tattoos when he was of age. But one skill that he learned was moving in the shadows without making a sound. 

Though the Jedi have skills moving silently they still sucked in Maul’s mind. Maul actually became very good a intelligence gathering which shocked everyone. Even his master wanted to perfect the skill of moving so silently that it practically to late to catch on.

Then Maul taught the skill to other Padawans his age like his good friend Obi-Wan. They wrecked havoc amongst the temple. Plo and Qui-Gon thought it was hilarious. The other knights and masters didn’t think it was funny. Then when Maul and Obi-Wan were able to pull a fast one on One-uspspecting-Master Mace Windu, he eventually saw perhaps maybe the skill should be taught because it could be life saving. Maul choose a few that he thought would be able to learn and pass on the skill to other. Let me tell you it took many rotations for Maul to be satisfy.

But occasionally when he is at the Temple he would join the classes being taught. Might as well show how it really done right? From a true Dathomirian. The teacher start it a little bit with the younger initiates. One of the initiates heard that Padawan Oppress was going to be at the class. The young initiate got the other initiates worried that they wouldn’t be able to learn the skill because they were like Padawan Oppress. Like a Zabarak and their tattoos. Because the initiates thought that Maul had the skills because of his black tattoos and thats why. Not that Maul uses the force. So right before the have to go to the training room they all put on face paint trying to mimic Maul’s tattoos.

So the group of initiates made it to the training room. Maul was shocked to a bunch of younglings come in trying to look like him. He thought it was hilarious. Even the other Jedi teaching was flabbergasted. Maul really wanted to laugh at the sight. It had come up sometimes that they weren’t Zabarak or Dathomirian. It was the force that being manipulated. In the end Maul thought it was very cute that different species would try to look like him. Because there are some that think he is evil even though he is a Jedi.

The Basics of Stealth

Stretch well before going anywhere. Nothing worse than a foot cramp when you're crouched in an awkward spot.

Wear soft-soled shoes and step lightly, absorbing most of your weight with your knees. Some soft-soled shoes squeak on certain surfaces such as tile or lino, so if you can, test the shoes on the surface far ahead of time. If you're in a house and don't plan on leaving it, stick to socks. Bare feet can get sweaty and stick to hard floors, making noise.

On wood floors, walk as close to the walls as you can without losing your balance, to minimize creaking.

When turning a doorknob, do it slowly and lift up on the door with your other hand as it opens. This relieves stress on the hinges and can lessen or prevent squeaking.

If you need to make a movement that will almost certainly make some sound, such as opening a rusty gate, time it with white noise if possible - a refrigerator humming, someone coughing or sneezing, a clock chiming, dogs barking, emergency sirens, etc.

Control your breathing. Take even, steady breaths through your nose.

If you feel a sneeze coming on, press a finger hard against your upper lip, right under your nose and keep it there for several seconds. Most of the time this rids you of the urge to sneeze.

When following someone, maintain a good distance while still keeping them in sight. If you have to walk a long ways behind someone in an open, sparsely populated area, get out your phone and pretend to text a little, to make it appear as if you are not focused on someone near you. As you tilt your head down at the phone in your hands, glance up at your target often, without moving your head, to keep them in sight.

Avoid having things on your person that make noise or could potentially do so, such as a wallet chain, bracelets, change in a pocket, etc. Jangling keys can be held in the hand to silence them, or if they are clipped to a rear belt loop, tuck them into your back pocket if the bunch is not too big. Tie your shoelaces well and high so the ends don't click on the ground as you walk, or cause you to trip. Don't chew gum. Put your mobile on silent, not even vibrate.

Be aware at all times of the light around you and work with it. It makes no sense to hide around a corner if your shadow can be seen beyond it. Same goes for mirrors. Hospitals and some parking garages have mirrors at corners. Puddles on the ground may betray your reflection as well.

Avoid showing suspicious body language or appearance. Keep sweatshirt hoods off and your chin up, don't wear shades if it isn't sunny, don't shove your hands deep into your pockets, don't hunch your shoulders, and don't walk slowly, make sudden stops, or wander in circles.
