this is definitely probably just a sign i need to get off of tiktok but if i see another fucking person going "the dispatch fandom needs to write better/more original" fics (poorly summarized version of what i've seen) i'm going to lose my mind. so fucking what if everyone writes virgin waterboy! so what if they write him as a confident top! so what if there's the same three fucking plotlines across multiple different fics by different authors! these authors are fucking sharing their work with you, FOR FREE, and you go and demand something extra or different or perfectly curated to your taste. if you don't like it, then don't read it! and if you don't fucking see what you want to read, write it yourself, encourage the people who ARE writing it, or just wait patiently. it's so fucking discouraging to see this shit as an author ESPECIALLY one who does like to write those tropes like. obviously there are people who are so kind and i've not personally had any like bad or negative interactions with people, only seeing these takes on tiktok (which, fandoms on tiktok as a whole are...something). i'm just. i'm just mad. and wanted to ramble about it.
