When: 9/22/2017 approx 3pm local time| Where: Royal House of Roast Beef - Lowell Street, Methuen Mass | Price: $7.49 | Color: Cincinatti Red | Weight: tea cup pig | rating: 4 BEEFS | Tasting Notes: You owe it to yourself and all #sultansofsauce to have a beef on your birthday right? These guys take an interesting approach to marketing and choose to have a highway exit sign and heading south from NH on 93 on a Friday, that sign paid off for them in spades. I cruised down the off ramp to be at a beef crossroads as @anthonysroastbeef popped up a new outpost right across the street! I stuck to my royal guns and sat down in an old school place with tables where the chairs were built into the table and swiveled perfectly on axis based on over 20 years of #jamesriverbbqsauce lubrication. The beef was served on a tray and had the appearance of a panini that just hadn't been pressed due to the flat bun (see pictures) that resembled a James River top hat resting on a beefy skull oozing with sweet sauce over some dill chips. Solid Sandwich. Nothing too crazy. Simple. Succulent. Sweet. Saucy. Satisfying (the 5 S's of Beef ) next time you are cruising up or down 93 look for the sign over the merrimack and make your way down to Royal! For their unique history, visit their website, it tells a wonderful beef story that covers 2 families and their journey navigating this crazy #beefbusiness - like your sandwich? call the owner at 978-794- 4996 and tell him all about it!
