beef s2 did a great job explaining what it is to be at the ER with ovaries and it was surreal to watch with a cis perisex man going "they would never do that" having to go yep I've been in this situation and they absolutely do

really into the weird implied stuff about Josh's family in beef s2 that just never got addressed. interesting choices all around with him. the subtlety of never addressing the twin thing directly but just weaving it into every episode really had me wondering if it was really there and I neeeed to discuss it
the way this is so accurate re: my asian ass getting kicked by dairy, but also. the way it's saying that we all have beef: that deep-seated grudge born out of unfairness or being wronged. and if we can produce beef, we can produce milk too—problem is, we aren't wired to consume the latter. according to amy's theory, we have our ancestors to thank for that. they chose to stay away from milk, and they passed that choice down from generation to generation until we were essentially conditioned to repeat their actions. so now, even when beef and milk are both available to us, beef is all we get to have.
(of course, we still have the option to drink milk. it's a matter of how uncomfortable we're willing to get.)
