YES, I DID. I started playing D&D this year, and a way I pass time if I need to keep myself busy but don't have it in me to read or listen to or watch something is make up PCs because it's fun. I have one PC that I haven't used yet but I'm gonna keep her a secret for now. HOWEVER. the PC I'm playing in our current campaign is a spring eladrin named Astarael Aelius. She came to the Material Plane from the feywild in search of her fortune after several failed get rich quick schemes. She wants the money to help her people--folks in the feywild are afraid of the Material Plane and think it's dangerous and full of war and strife. She wants them to have a better relationship, to be able to help them see that it's all right out there. First she had to see that for herself, although she already had an inkling that it was pretty okay, and then because the Material Plane works with money and not just favors like the feywild, she needed to make money.
Her mission has changed a little bit: now she wants to use whatever money she earns to build small homes in the style of the houses of the feywild, places where fey who come over even just to visit and not to stay can rest and feel a little bit more like they're at home. The Material Plane can be overwhelming, and having something that reminds her of home was helpful to her, so she wants to help others in the same way. So I guess now she's transitioning into real estate investment.
Also, she's an Oath of the Ancients paladin. She's five-ten and her other two party members are a dwarf and a gnome, so she is Very Tall compared to them. They all adopted a wolf named Snarl, and she has a mount that is a fey elk she named Salix because his antlers look like willow tree branches. Overwhelmingly, she wants to help, partially because people in the Material Plane have helped her when she first arrived, and as a fey she doesn't like to be in anyone's debt but also because she just genuinely does like helping. Seeing that her being here has helped to make things better has really furthered her argument that it's worth it for folks from the feywild to come over to the Material Plane, even just for a little while.
Anyway I could talk about her forever but yeah. she's great.
