august 9 - prompt: impulse - words 682 - @jegulus-microfic - werewolf!james
Regulus knew better than to antagonise a werewolf, he did. Itās just, it was a little fun; okay? James was always so fun with everyone else, Regulus had seen it with his own eyes. He wasnāt sure why James wouldnāt joke around with him, would barely even acknowledge him.Ā
Truth be told, Regulus didnāt know why it bothered him ā James was Siriusā friend, and heād never cared much when Remus and Peter hadnāt paid him any mind. But James was another issue, Regulus wanted Jamesā attention, and if the only way to get it was by mildly irritating him, well.Ā
It wasnāt his fault, James was the one that left his hoodie behind, Regulus had simply, taken it. James always made such a big deal whenever Regulus would touch his things, it was only meant to get a reaction, he expected James to huff at him and demand he take it off, or to yell at him; part of him thought James might just side eye him and ask Sirius for the hoodie back later.
What he hadnāt anticipated was James walking into the room and stopping dead in his tracks, wild eyes landing on Regulus who was standing in the kitchen, eating ice cream from the tub, with only the hoodie and underwear on; which you could hardly tell, because the hoodie came half way down his thighs.Ā
So, Regulus might have lied earlier. But in his defence, he already knew it was pathetic enough to steal your crushes hoodie and then wear it around the house because it was warm, and it smelt nice. It was easier to pretend it was part of some grand plan to annoy James.
James, who was still staring at him, still not speaking; Sirius looked between the two of them before storming off. Regulus couldnāt hear what heād said, but he watched as Sirius slipped headphones on as he left the room.Ā
āUh, hi?ā Regulus offered, unsure of his next steps here; he couldnāt really take it off, and be left in front of James in only his underwear. James started to stalk towards him, there was a look on his face that Regulus couldnāt even come close to explaining, and he felt his own heart rate start to skyrocket the closer that James got.
āRegulus,ā James all but growled out, Regulus felt his skin flush as arousal pooled deep in his gut at Jamesā tone, the embarrassment only growing as James scented the air, another low growl reverberating out of him, āI have been, so incredibly patient. I have ignored every single impulse that would be untoward, every impulse that said to make you mine because it isnāt what you wanted.ā
āBut now, you are all wrapped up, in my clothes, and I am finding it very hard to hold onto that resolve,ā Regulus swore he could see Jamesā eyes starting to flicker red, and his heart beat only doubled, āso, unless you want a very possessive werewolf claiming you very soon, I would slowly take off the jumper, and walk out of the room.ā
James emphasised the word walk in such a way that Regulusā mind started reeling; he could see the physical restraint from James, as if he was being forced forward while trying to hold himself back, claws digging into the palms of his hands.
āWhat happens if I run?ā Regulus watched as Jamesā body somehow tensed even further, a scowl settling onto features that were progressively becoming less and less human.
āSweetheart, you smell like mine; if you run, Iām coming after you,ā Regulus wasnāt sure if this was a dream, or if James had figured out Regulusā crush on him and decided to play some kind of sick joke, but, there was a part of him that knew James wouldnāt do that. The man in front of him, trying to hold himself back because he thought, somehow, Regulus didnāt want him, wouldnāt be playing this kind of joke. Which meant that was a threat, a promise. There was only one thing to do, really.
