I have a policy in my classroom that if you take a test and it leaves my room before I grade it, I won't grade it ever. The only exception is for SpEd students that go to the resource room to have it read aloud to them. There is one SpEd student that has ignored that policy twice now. The first time I gave a stern warning about the consequences of not bringing the test straight back to my classroom. It was ignored yesterday and so today I refused to take the test to grade it. The next period, the SpEd teacher sent the student back with it and they awkwardly stood in front of my desk with it without saying anything despite the fact that they were only serving as a distraction to my next class of the day.

I went to the principal about it when it came time for me to go on prep and completely got no support at all. Am I wrong in wanting to teach this student that all the same rules that apply to other students apply to them?
