. . I feel like I’ve really accomplished something by keeping my plants alive on our 35th consecutive day of 110+ temperatures. It seems like I can draw a corollary between growing something beautiful in the heat and trying to create in our currently messy world. . For every new bloom, I feel a sense of peace. That in spite of the heat, beauty can still be created. The same can be said of trying to write in our current chaotic circumstances. Each new word, sentence, paragraph, feels like a small victory.
