Shigeto Live @ Electrowerkz, Angel
17 July 2014
Kon ni chi wa
Elijah the name and I’m here to give you a review on the latest event I went to in July, this happens to be my fourth event and probably my last.
Now I’ve been on the electronic music radar for a while since I’ve been listening to grime, dubstep and all the other genres that pretty much involves around electronic. 2013/2014 I’ve opened my ears to more of the sub-genres like Chillwave, Experimental, Glitch hop and so on. I do believe I’ve found a home for these genres as it really suits my sound preference. On the 17th of July I saw Zachary Saginaw aka Shigeto perform at London Electrowerkz. He’s an electronic musician originally from Ann Arbor, Michigan. His music has a diverse sound, influenced by jazz. He has successfully released three albums in which my opinion are all bangers and pretty much his music is type of music that will take you on a journey or it could leave you soaring through the galaxy. I do think he categorizes with producers like Bonobo, Flying Lotus, Courtland Urbano and so on. I will end this review by saying that his performance was phenomenal plus to hear his music live made me a fan straightaway. I don’t know what it is but there’s something good about listening to music live rather than listening to music on your electronic devices I just can’t put my finger on it. *Hmmmmm*
Anyway sayonara.
Elijah Nang.
