A small trip was in line for a certain pair of teens, one planned out only moments before execution; a spur-of-the-moment thing, it could be called. It was nothing special -- a small tour of the cosmos and perhaps another world or two -- though that didn’t make it any less exciting for either party. Perhaps it wasn’t a good idea, after all, the ship that was used to execute such an endeavor wasn’t particularly his to use for self-assigned missions. But that idea was long since forgotten and abandoned, left to rot in the recesses of the boy’s mind.
Their adventure had started out smoothly, the pair of friends venturing off from the elder’s home world and deeper into the vastness of space, jokes and laughs passed between as they went. A few mistakes were made while driving, though that was to be expected, as the pilot’s attention wavered from his friend to the passing rocks in front of them. Soon, however, it became clear that the split in focus must be disrupted, the ship’s health bar gleaming and blinking a striking red.
The drive grew intense, rocks and enemies alike shooting out from all different angles, their aim unfortunately making up for the lack the Gummi had. There was a panicked cry of “Take cover!” as a large meteor covered their vision, the collision of the two objects creating a large crash that hardly made it into the boy’s ears as he appeared to black out.
Then, the next thing he remembered, was something cold and hard pressed up against his cheek. Blue eyes fluttered open, a soft grunt being made as the boy tried to push away the blur of sleep (or whatever that could be called).
“...H-huh..?” Sora’s eyes widened upon noticing the strange area they were in. It was a dark room, lit only by a slowly flickering candle that sat on a table a few feet over. The walls and floor appeared to be made of stone, like some sort of medieval-themed building. A faint clap of thunder along with the hum of rain against the outside structure told of the storm raging outside, as well as explaining the lack of visibility within the room.
After a quick moment, a memory appeared in his mind -- that of him riding in the Gummi ship with his friend, and crashing... Wait, his friend! Beat! The brunet pushed himself onto his hands and knees, hissing at the faint pain his sore muscles gave off. “Beat-?!”
