“Oppas! On stage, only show your relaxed sides at some moments.” The advice coupled with love from BEAST’s official fanclub, B2UTY left an impact on BEAST who is turning six since their debut.

“That’s why for the sixth mini album, I wrote a song like that. (Yong Junhyung) Like the very first time, we used an overseas choreographer again. I want to make the hearts of the many female fans flutter. (Kikwang smiles shyly)

BEAST who wanted to show fans their overflowing spirit released their sixth mini album after a year, and through the title song ‘Good Luck’, they’ve won first place on public and cable broadcast and were also ranked first in album sales for three weeks, revealing their place at the top.

BEAST’s popularity in Korea is also seen in Japan. After not meeting the fans for a long time, they had a high-touch session with 15,000 fans.

Without looking in the slightest tired, without going home after finishing their schedules, they headed to Cube Café where they met with reporters to have an honest talk about the sixth mini album.

“Even up till now, the thought of wanting to show a rookie/newcomer image of us has not changed. After Fiction, we didn’t have a choreography that specifically had a point so we were worried. This time round we wanted to give the fans something. The choreography gave us no time to rest even with without the order of the dance. The dance we show on music programs is already 40% deleted from the original whole dance.” (Yang Yoseob)

Yang Yoseob who is in charge of main vocals in BEAST was worried if he could be able to sing live looking at the tight choreography. Jang Hyunseung said “If idols, it definitely has to be sharp choreography. In order words, a ‘difficult’ choreography and it’ll be great if we don’t go out of sync.”

With the recent reports of the company getting listed, Yang Yoseob said “I don’t really know the meaning of getting listed. In that time thinking, I’m more curious about what fans want.” Doojoon added “Don’t we take care of ourselves before the listing of the company? (laughs) We just work hard on preparing our album,” showing loyalty to his job.

When talking about the jinx for 5-year idols, BEAST members thought differently. Up till now they have not had any huge disagreement and when asked how they are able to do that, they answered “majority rule”. ‘Although we respect the opinions of the minority, it’s easier to follow the majority. With everyone on the same footing, it has allowed for our team work to be formed well.” (Junhyung)

When asked if there were plans for team or unit promotions, Yang Yoseob said “Amazingly the members all have the same opinion. ‘BEAST is a whole’. More so than solo or unit promotions, the members treasure group promotions a lot more. If there’s a wish for the period after promotions this round, it would be great to come back in October. Hehe!”

With a huge sunbae, god’s comeback, it could be dangerous/disadvantageous but magnae Son Dongwoon was curious. “At home I have the ‘Observation’ album so I’m even a fan. The us who has always been the youngest, don’t have any sunbaes to comfort us when we go to the broadcasting stations these days. So it’s sad. Luckily, the legend sunbaes had a comeback so when I look at them I think ‘Ah we could emulate them’ and more than it being a crisis, it’s happiness.”

When talking about the reaction of his surrounding in him being a representative of gaenyeom-dol, Yang Yoseob said “I’m always thankful when I hear “He even sings live well.” When I get comments like that, I believe I should live my ordinary life properly too. The members themselves don’t save compliments for each other. If it isn’t a big hole (T/N: It probably means problem) they always support saying, ‘good job’.”

Different from other idol groups, the 6 members believe that ‘fairness’ is what made the ‘비스트’ what it is now. They say “There is a very friendly charm that not only one specific member stands out for,” they added, “We can’t lipsync so even when we’re recording our music video, we will really sing.” Junhyung said “Whenever I write a song, I feel ‘Ah! He’s even good at this.’ and I feel it constantly. There will be better things released in the future so please look forward to it.”

To end off the interview, we asked their thoughts on idol relationships. Hyunseung said “Although it’s true that I will have to reveal it if I’m caught but I think there isn’t a need to reveal relationships,” revealing his thoughts. Doojoon added, “Relationship know-how? We don’t really know much about that,” and smiled wittily.
