After camp Bea and Oscar had definitely grown "closer" to say the least, They were practically going out without the official title saying they were! A hug that lingered just a bit too long, Holding hands, And now this...

Bea's lips were pressed into his softly, The seats of the old diner booth creaking under their weight as Bea was leaned in, Planting a kiss on Oscar's lips. The room was empty beyond the sound of the jukebox playing an old hit to fill the dead air in the rest of the room.

It wasn't anything too intense, Just a light peck felt like the highest achievement after so many years of pinning. Warm, soft, and heart exploding was the best way Oscar could describe it to himself. His heart racing fast as he leaned forward into the kiss.

Years of feelings revealed even with the subtle pressure of his return smooch. His lips trembled against Bea's until eventually despite the tame kiss, Both truly needed a moment to come back to reality for a moment of air. Pulling away with the subtle sound of the kiss ending neither teen spoke as they looked into each other's eyes.

"Two shakes for the happy couple..." Bassy said out sarcastically, Startling the two out of their moment with the slam of glass against the laminate of the table. "Enjoy..?" The older questioned the strong blush painting the couples cheeks while moving away from the table and back to the kitchen. An awkward silence filled the air near them as they both looked forward while pulling their respective shake closer.

"What was that..?!" Oscar questioned in his own head. It had happened before he even realized, Talking about the project led to her getting closer, Why would he think anything of her getting so close when he had the book they were referencing in their respective essays..? He wouldn't have questioned it if she didn't kiss him the second he looked her way?!? From giggling about how their teacher probably wouldn't care what they wrote about to each other almost immediately into a reality shattering kiss, A little tonal whiplash is only to be expected.

The two enjoyed their respective dessert in an awkward silence. "Pretty good right..?" Awkwardly questioned Bea through the silence, Wait? Bea, Awkward? The tone in her voice gave it all away, It was one he had only recognized her to use when she had a crush. And it was being used with him...

It was a simple enough question but it was enough to rock his world looking over to see the red adorned on her cheeks, A shy smile decorating the love shining from her eyes at him, "Oh.." He quickly thought to himself seeing the look he knew all too familiar, But looking at him this time...

Bea Goldfishberg. The girl he had been pinning for, Years spent wishing she'd look his way. Was it really happening towards him this time? Despite the kiss he still wondered if this was too good to be true..

"Bea..?" His scratchy tone shot nothing but arrows of love into her heart. "Do you..?" The words were right at the tip of his tongue. Why was this so hard... Was it the way she looked at him, Those loving eyes finally gazed at him instead...

"Bea... Was that..? I-I mean," Stuttering kept him busy trying to figure out how to ask what he wished. *"Do you like me..?"* It wasn't something you typically just came out with and asked your best friend for life normally...

Bea's attention was nothing but hyper-focused on him as he continuously tried to make his statement to acknowledge what just happened. "D-Do you.." If he couldn't just ask, "Do you want to go out this weekend..!" He practically yelled out, Collecting every thought into this request that would make or break everything. Eyes shut as he waited to be humiliated and rejected—

Instead he was met with cute giggles as Bea leaned closer to the smitten look, With a giggle she pecked a kiss onto Oscar's cheeks, In return he practically jumped out of his seat from the action. For being kissed prior he sure was jumpy at a little peck... Asking out the girl he had been crushing on his whole life certainly didn't add to those feelings..

Flopping back onto her bed with a positive sigh. Holding up a plush bear the boy of interest had won her out of a crane game. "Did I really fall for my best friend?" She asked the stuffie like she expected an answer back.

"Yeah, I did. What am I gonna do about it now?" She continued her vent at the toy, "Nothing.. Nothing because If he says no, Where do I even go from there." She mumbled up at the bear.

Confidence in herself didn't mean she didn't have any doubts in the situation of course. They had been friends for so long, What if she messed that up? What if he didn't like her back

Feelings swirling around her chest swapping from happy to anxious like a see-saw. "For now I guess I'm just as happy to observe." The red-headed hopeless romantic thought to herself.

Pulling out her phone she opened up to Oscar's number. Messages opened and closed just as quickly, She truly didn't know what to say to him for the first time. Her usual full mind of topics for the two was blank as it was instead filled with thoughts about him instead.

An older Bea with a ring on her fin, Holding a little fish girl with curly reddish brown hair. It didn't take the two long to piece together that the girl was the Daughter of her and Oscar, They'd silently cheer Oscar on to themselves until they'd hear over the intercom that bringing the future Bea here they sent this time's Bea into the future!

Of course they wouldn't be able to hide what they did forever as she had a toddler aged fish with her who wanted to explore, And not caring about any risk of timeline altering the future Bea was happy to re-explore around a tank she hadn't returned to since graduation.

Running into the field while the guys were currently doing laps, Bea wouldn't be able to stop her daughter from swimming up to Oscar yelling out some variation of "Papa" excitedly leaving the poor boy stunned, From him panicking all day from watching her just disappear. The whiplash of emotions as he looked up to see an older version of Bea giggling to herself.

Secrets out so no point in hiding it, Everyone there certainly heard after all not long before the rest of the school heard. She wouldn't even try to correct the girl but probably tease a little by saying something along the lines of "Not yet he isn't." The full confirmation would probably send the poor boy into shock to process this new information.

While on the other end of time I feel like we'd have Bea with her own crush on the boy pushed stronger as she sees his future self. Handsome and well kept but still with his geeky charm she liked. Already having a day planned and paid for his Wife and Daughter, They would sit at the park at a picnic that was already set out.

Bea would have a lot of questions about the future, When she'd see his ring she'd especially ask who he was married too. Oscar unable to lie to her beats around the bush enough for Bea to ask if it's her where he'd have to confirm. She'd ask to see her future ring and get shut down.

Eventually Albert and Jumbo would have their machine fixed after a day of Oscar playing with his future daughter, Not knowing how he's going to bring up any of this to his Bea when she eventually returned. Eventually they'd say goodbye and she'd return, It was obvious to everyone the change in her demeanor around Oscar when she got back.

Oscar himself especially noticed, The blush she wore when she noticed he was looking at her was blunt to everyone but especially to him. They both knew now but neither of them would acknowledge it for a bit, Their closeness certainly did change wordlessly.

Like it just suddenly started one day and hasn't stopped since, He can't make sense of it at all but, God is he happy with the significant amount of attention he is getting suddenly. Why question and potentially mess it up of course!
